Finally! I've been patiently waiting for it to officially drop on AT&T! I've been talking with various AT&T Rep's about it (who always seem to be clueless) because I've been wanting to test out the trackpad! I currently have the Curve 8900. Looking at all the specs of the Bold 9700, there isn't a lot of reasons to switch (because they're almost the same) but my girlfriends been wanting a BlackBerry so I'm gonna get the new Bold and give her my Curve! Thank you RIM & AT&T!!! :)

How can they offer this device for so cheap? When the 9000 came out, it was close to $300! Any reasoning for this?

Thank God! Its about time! I've been waiting on this one for quite some time. I love my 9000 but I'm so ready for the 9700. I have an upgrade coming up soon so that's when I'll make the move. But at least I can have OS 5.0 til then :-)

I just did a backflip at work. Ok maybe i didn't, but i'm really excited! I can't wait to get my hands on this. I've been contemplating this phone for a few weeks now. The major benefit is the battery life, size, camera, and trackpad. It has less onboard memory, and no wifi 802.11a. So it's nice, but is it really worth it?

I just ordered through my Premier account as well and saw $299.00 I still bought it though. I remember somwhere there will be a $100 rebate??????

There seem to be a lot of internal issues abotu the pricing. Diffrent parts of the site say different prices, and different reps are giving diffrent prices. The range in 299-750.

So WAIT a few hours at least befor etrying order or you might get screwed.

For a few months, I've been considering which phone will replace my Curve 8310. It was a hard choice between the Storm 2, HTC Imagio, HTC Tilt, iPhone, and Bold 2. I tried out a Storm 1 and an HTC Pure, but in the end, I opted for the superior functionality of the keyboard (especially shortcuts) over the beauty of the large touch screen. The 9700 has the most features in the lightest package, and I don't have to give up my AT&T rollover minutes.

I'm excited to start using it.

So I just called at&t to se if they would price match the 9700 with T-mobile's $199 deal and the lady on the phone told me they don't price-match. I also asked about the mail-in-rebate and she told me that unless it shows up for your phone in the cart when you go to check out it won't be there (supposedly it will print out with your reciept). Not sure what do next, might have to wait till next week.

Spoke to a premier rep, the rebate department, and the store. Unless your premier website shows the rebate you will not be eligible and can't use the form in the store either. Premier pricing is different and that's why even the non upgrade price is $749.99.

My At&t rep sent me some pricing. There will be promo pricing running soon that the device will be $175 (same as the 9000).

Then when the promo is over (1/31/10) the price will be $199.

Mine will be here tomorrow.

I was able to order the phone and didn't becuase if you don't wait until the 22nd they don't have a rebate attached. The girl I talked to was very knowledgeable and only saw the rebate attached to the 9000 not the 9700. You may be able to complain loud enough and get taken care of but I may just wait to upgrade in store and get the rebate.

I don't know how ATT runs...no one there knows anything about the 9700 and Premiers system is down. If it wasnt for the fact we have 2 Iphones on our Account I would be over at T-mobile in a heartbeat....I actually hate ATT.

Ordered from Premier this morning, $299 - $100/Loyalty Advantage Discount Instant - $100 Rebate Instant/applied to acct. = $99 , should arrive Wed. FedEx tracking good to go, no complaints here :)

does that mean that RIM/ATT is going to release 5.0 for the rest of us who cant afford to get the new bold right now? That seems to be what verizon did. as soon as the storm 2 came out the storm users could upgrade to os5. does that mean all us 9000 users will be able to upgrade our os on sunday?

Two 9700's on upgrade qualified out of contract lines on our business accout. I called in and got a price of $174.99 out the door with overnight shipping. No MIR.

Chatting with ATT now...still quoting me the $299 price.

Lady I talked to said the business price was $330 (which makes little sense) and the corp sponsored price was $299 and has been all day, so I guess I'm waiting.

I'm not sure I trust that the rebate form will be in the box...maybe I'll wait to see if anyone else gets a form.

order placed... 299$ + 14.95 shipping... i didnt have access to an upgrade, and i dont get a rebate... not a bad price. she also offered it to me for $385 (45% off $700 as part of my business discount)

When I first looked at the site, it said $749.99 on the page with all of the phones.

Once clicking on it, it showed up as $299.99 with no upgrade. That's where I stopped, because I still want to check the in-store price.

Think they have any in-store phones for business users?

i have a premier account and i talked to a cs rep, as he stated that i am still eligible for mail-in rebates. this is the way it should be anyways. there's no way att would stiff premier customers. as most premier accounts state they would honor the best available deal, whether its the specific % discount off equipment or the best promo at the time. dont worry about it ppl.

I'm a premier customer but after giving up on their offer I just spoke to Small Business CS and got it for $199+Tax free overnight shipping with 2 year extension. No rebate just an instant one.

i called a few stores to see if i could buy it from in store (obviously not) but i thought i could try my luck since last year they allowed me to buy the bold a day before it was released officially but to my dismay not this year. I have a premier account but ill wait until sunday to save the extra $100 college tuition is killing my pockets =(

$75 with contract renewal should be there in 2 days. no more 8310.

But because it said 749.99 for no commitment on one page and 299.99 on another they gave it to me for 299 they weren't even sure about the price! Lol I wasn't complaining!

I've had the Bold 9000 since June of this year (after trading in my iPhone 3G), and now I'll be purchasing the Bold 9700 this SUNDAY!!! I will probably keep my Bold 9000 as a back-up phone.

I'm one of the persons who LOVE the original Bold 9000's wider design and impeccable keyboard layout, but I will say that the following 3 features on the Bold 9700 have me sold:

[1] 256 flash memory (RAM) v. 128 flash memory on the original Bold;

[2] optical track pad v. the scroll ball on the original Bold; and

[3] 3.2 Megapixel camera v. 2.0 Megapixel on the original Bold.

Again, I REALLY love the Bold 9000's wider design, but I believe I will adjust very quickly to the new Bold 9700's slimmer design. The phone is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Just pulled the trigger on one for $74 after Premier discounts. Total bill came to $113.99 with car charger and shipping.

how are you guys getting $174 and $74? The rep I spoke to said the $100 rebate doesn't even go into effect till next week. Also I'm getting stuck with the $9.95 standard shipping charge. btw, I'm getting mine for $250 + tax + 9.95 shipping - $100 rebate (and noted on my account that I'll return everything if I don't get the $100 rebate).

Also, what is their early termination policy? Is it still $175? The reason is that I might be moving out of the country in a year or so and not sure what will happen then. I heard some people will get a ETF charge, sometimes no fee (moving outside of country), and some say they'll charge ETF + full cost of the phone. And I just read a survey done that 11/16 reps don't know the real early termination policy so I can't go ask them.

It's amazing what 24 hours will do. I called AT&T 2 separate times yesterday and both reps told me that my price for the 9700 would be $330 (my actual upgrade date was Dec. 6) plus shipping. An extra 31 bucks just to upgrade 20 days early??? Called this morn and not only did I get the $299 price, but an immediate rebate of $100! Out the door with overnight shipping for $253. It'll be here by 3pm tomorrow! Sweeeeet!!! I cannot wait for this baby to arrive!

I don't know how you guys are getting the price down to below $100. I was trying to push for a discount while on the phone with AT&T and I think the lady got annoyed by me, and transferred me, but the next thing I know...its some 1-900# asking me "if I'm ready for a good time"....was a little pissed off, was going to complain, but I forgot her name.

I will just wait until Sunday....sucks for me, I guess!!!

Are you kidding me? I paid $445 for my 9000 last year! And I've been having plenty of problems with it (spontaneous resetting being the most annoying!) and now they're selling the 9700 for $199?? Even if it is $299, like it says on the website, that still beats $400+. Even worse is that I'm stuck in my 2 year plan, unless i want to pay another $400 for a new Blackberry? No thanks, I think I might wait till next year when my contract's up. Who knows, the price might go down to $99 at this rate.
