When Verizon turns on 4G service in my area (already announced for some time this year), I will go get a new phone (to replace my beloved by me Storm 2). A 4G Blackberry would be my first choice, but if there's not one available, then Android it will be. As soon as I get a new phone, then I'll get a tablet. If the phone is Android, then the tablet will be, too. If the phone is a BB, then the tablet will be a Playbook.

Why pay for a Playbook 4G data plan, when I can just pay for my phone's data plan (and possibly tethering) and share it between a tablet, my laptop, and my other laptop?

Why wait, get the android now, I think they have 4G phones already and you can get the Android tablet now!

There isn't a 4G blackberry and I'm sure your purchase will move RIM from record profits into bankruptcy. I'm sure Jim B is reading your post and banging the table. Damn we lost StuartV and the whole company is now going to hell.... or maybe not. Which do you think it is.

I'm waiting in case there's a better 4G phone out when 4G becomes available in my area.

If you get an Android phone, why not still get the Playbook? You can tether it to any phone. And the Playbook will have android app capabilities, eventually......

If the Playbook has Android capabilities by the time I buy a new phone, I might still get it. But, there is a specific app I want to run (Virtual Studio Live to control my Presonus mixer that I use with my band). It is available for the iPad and they're going to release an Android version soon. If the Playbook will run that app (and its usable, considering the smaller screen size) when I go to buy a tablet, then a Playbook would definitely be an option. But, wanna bet on whether that app will run (and be useable) on a Playbook by the time Verizon turns on 4G in my area?

Best Buy told me I'll get the unit on the 19th... of course it could be a lie but I specifically asked if I would get it on the 19th otherwise I want to pick it up at the store and they said you should get it on the 19th.

What's a "Staples' ?

Anyone in their right mind who wants to be sure to get their playbook wouldn't pre-order from a bunch of little metal wires that are stuck together :P
