Spotify for BlackBerry leaves beta - Now available for most GSM devices
Spotify for BlackBerry has taken the US by storm the last few months, and today their BlackBerry app has left the initial beta phase and is available for everyone. The app requires you to have the premium subscription which will run you $9.99 in order to use the service on your device. For now Spotify only supports the Bold 9780, Bold 9700, Curve 9300, Bold 9000 and Curve 8520. No sign of the Bold 9900, Torch 9810 or 9800 from what we can see, and if you have a CDMA device you're out of luck all together. So if you fit into any of the tight criteria, you can grab Spotify for BlackBerry at m.spotify.com from your device.

Well. Not only does Spotify not have service in Canada, but even if it did I could not run the app on my Torch.

I've just tried it and I found out I don't have to to pay any subscription fees. But I'm in the UK. Oh, and I'm using the Torch 9800 which isn't in the list of supported phones.
EDIT: Oh dear, I have just received an email from Spotify saying that this is a 48 hour free trail with an option to extend that a further 30 days if I click the link.
I knew it was too good to be true when my tracks started playing without asking me to sign up for Spotify Premium!

Why wouldn't this work on a CDMA network?

According to an employee of Spotify they're having issue with OGG decoder on BB CDMA devices, more info can be found on this link http://goo.gl/JXt8O :)

Finally this app has arrived for BB! Great app works perfectly, clean UI and supports offline mode. If your BB model isn't listed then select manual.

I love it, but wish it supported local files.

I wonder what prevented them to make this compatible with BlackBerry CDMA devices... I mean if Rhapsody, Pandora, Slacker, TuneIn, etc. work just fine why can't Spotify?
Not to mention the Spotify app for Android and iOS devices DO work on CDMA devices.
I'm confused.

Downloaded it and within less than a week has corrupted my memory card. Maybe it doesnt work on 9800 after all. Did read on Spotify forums on BB and Android phones that there has been issues with the app corrupting SD cards.
