When you first start the game, you are presented with the game lobby. Here you can see your game stats, like the number of times you’ve won each game and the number you’ve played, so you can see how good (or bad) you really are. This is where you choose which game you want to play.
The graphics in Solitaire Gold are excellent. The card images are nice and crisp, and there is a huge variety of backgrounds that you can select. My favorite is Chocolate Swirl. And if you can’t decide, simply set it to rotate through all the backgrounds.
And if you just want to choose a plain color background, you can set it to any of hundreds of solid colors.
The gameplay is very straightforward…select the card you want to move, and move it. You can do it all one-handed using the trackball, or use a combination of trackball and spacebar if you prefer.
Solitaire Buddy Gold retails for $9.95, and is a great value at that price. It’s the one game on my BlackBerry that I consistantly play and never get tired of. Solitaire Buddy Gold is a staple that belongs on every BlackBerry.
