If you're tuned into the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and using the official app for BlackBerry 10, you'll want to fire up BlackBerry World and grab the latest update. It's a small update but a very important one if you're following along on the go as it adds live results in addition to athletes names and countries. The update is live now for everyone.

Hey Bla1ze,

love your updates/posts but could you vary your terminology a little instead of always using the word "grab"?

You could use words like download, install, update, get, try etc. Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine :-( Thanks! Keep up the great work!

To terrorists groups who use extreme Muslim beliefs to justify the violence they perpetrate on anyone who doesn't agree with them? Fair enough if you support extream Muslim views ( which most Muslims don't even support).

What does that have to do with the Olympics? The Olympics as in Russia not the US.

Afghanistan was at the time not a threat to the US but Bush II needed a distraction from Gulf War II. On 11 September 2001 Osama and family were flying out of the US after the terrorist attacks. I don't support extremists over any religion or ideology.

It's about the athletes and competition, politics should have no place in the Olympics. I don't see why people think they have to make political statements.

A great update. Looking forward to the competitions and this update will make following them a lot easier.

New update allows this. Took a while to populate the app but I now have the full list of athletes and countries.

Not available for this device. I guess it's for people who got the 10.2.1 update. Still waiting. Damn AT&T!!

Why does it say not available for your device? I have a Z10, but software is at 10.1, does it require 10.2?

I was surprised to find in the initial release that I couldn't browse athletes by country. Nice to see this fixed. This is one of the better looking Cascades applications, more need to be done like this.

Sochi 2014 is only available for phones with10.2.1 (︶︹︺)

What do you have?

10.1.0. ☑ or 10.2.1 ☐

Dissapointed
Somehow it is very slow. First Medal long time won already and it still says no medal information.

Same here with T mobile. Feeling very left out. Tired of hitting that software update button and it telling me I have the latest software. At this time I am thinking of leaving BlackBerry. No sense in having a phone that never gets updated. Too bad, I really did like it.

Sent ten push notifications told me Canada had 5 gold and 3 silver.. during the opening ceremony.... deleted app... this was after I did update

From my Z10

Yeah got a bunch of those too. No athlete info and still no medal info. Seems the ui is rock solid but the backend needs plenty if work. Hopefully they resolve this before the Olympics are over!

Update...removed and reinstalled the app and that fixed the missing athletes / updates. The wife's app was working properly so figured something was up with my install.

When does the medals section get updated? I know some have been awarded but the app doesn't show any. Like the games haven't even started yet

For the "early adopters" of this app (who might've downloaded the day is was launched)... do yourself a favour: delete and re-install a fresh copy... even if you have all of the latest updates, an older version of this app fails.

Just delete and install a fresh copy; you'll see that everything works 100%.
