Heading off on your holidays or on a business trip? Skyscanner for BlackBerry 10 smartphones may be just the kind of app you could do with. The application is designed to search for flights from the locations and dates you require. And it seems to work perfectly.

If you find a flight you wish to book then just click the 'book' tab and you then will be given two options - either to head on over to the airlines website or to phone them and make the reservation.

The user interface is kept clean and crisp and you can't really go wrong with the app.

Full features of Skyscanner include:

  • Search over 1000 airlines and travel agents to get the best deals
  • Skyscanner is 100% independent and compares fares for low-cost carriers as well as scheduled airlines
  • Fully integrated with BlackBerry® Messenger: share trip details instantly with your BBM contacts
  • Busy? Email flight details to yourself for later
  • Available in over 25 languages
  • It’s FREE!

I am also trying to figure out how to change the currency from pounds to dollars.

Sent from my iPuh-lease-as-IF

Swipe down from the top, it's in the parameters.

It does not save this as a preference though, so each tome you open the application you need to do this.

Thanks for the article, James. Looks like a decent app if they fix the settings issue.

Swipe from top, settings, change currency
This app is awesome, only gripe I have is everytime I close than open it I have to reset the currency
Other than that it's awesome clean crisp and fast

Great app. I've used it to book flights and it's a straight forward process. And BlackBerry travel picks up the itinerary immediately.

This is an excellent application. I had used this last month and it found a flight that I needed which my wife couldn't on the computer. Afterwards, when I heard about BlackBerry travel I installed it and it picked up the flight from the email I got from booking the flight.

Nice app works well. A little clunky but gives you all the info you need and bam to the airline website to book I give it 4.5 stars. Nice native app

Nicely performing app that shows just how well a native app can run, but doesn't actually show the lowest fares available... I was able to find better deals using a regular old expedia.com seatch..
