Sketch W Friends gets a nice update for the BlackBerry PlayBook

We may have had some doom and gloom regarding the BlackBerry PlayBook not getting the expected upgrade to BlackBerry 10 but developers are still continuing to create and update apps for the tablet.

The popular online drawing game Sketch W Friends has recently had a bit of an overhaul and with it brings some sweet new features with version 5.0.

These include:

  • Private rooms are now open to all players - both Free & Paid.
  • No more Salon and Platinum Lounge; just one unified gaming zone so everyone gets to play together
  • We've added an interesting twist to the game: COINS! Each game round consumes 1 coin.
  • Users will get:
  • 200 Bonus coins for logging in with Facebook!
  • 70 Free coins for the first login in a day
  • +50 Bonus coins for logging in on consecutive days - the more often you play the more coins you earn
  • Paid users of Sketch W Friends will be credited with 5000 Bonus coins the first time they use the latest version!

Sounds good to me. Head on over to BlackBerry World on your PlayBook to grab the game if you haven't already.

I am greatful to the developers who keep working on games aand apps for the playbook. It is still an amazing device. And I still use it on a daily basis. I haven't played this game for a while will have to have a look at thje new version.

Any app update now has been in the work for a while now so it makes sense to roll out. Just don't expect that going forward. BUT I think BBRY got a moral duty to at least update the browser hopefully up to BB10 level. One can hope.

I love my Playbook, the only problem I have is no skype and app designers constantly ignoring BlackBerry as a competitor and concentrating on android and apple platforms alone. If we can't have skype, can't BlackBerry or someone come up with a truly workable and free alternative. Maybe blackberry could transform BBM somehow to rival Skype? And then roll it out to other platforms?

It's so strange, as soon as they announced no BB10 for PlayBook mine stopped charging... maybe it got sad and refuses to wake up ;)

I will never forget how I tossed 800$ away for that.

So the PB has Sketches WF but not Words WF or Scramble WF? I use my Playbook it's awesome, just lacks apps.

I don't think Sketch w/ Friends is developed by the same devs that made Words/Scramble w/ Friends.
