Share your Story Maker creations and you could win a prize!

Rumor has it that someone once said that nothing creative has ever come out of BlackBerry. I think several people around the CrackBerry community would disagree with that, and in fact take offense to such a statement. As such, this is the perfect time to launch our latest ongoing contest! Those of you with a BlackBerry Z10 or a developer unit have surely had the opportunity by now to explore the new app Story Maker. If not, you're going to want to get familiar with it soon because to enter this contest you need to show us your best Story Maker creation!

Head on over to the thread at the link below and embed your favorite Story Maker creation. That's right, embed the video into the thread. You can upload it to Youtube and keep it unlisted if you like, and delete it after the contest, but in order to enter the contest the video needs to be embedded in the thread. Feel free to give us some background information about your video, and be as creative as you like with it. It would be extra cool if all of the pictures/video you use were taken with your BlackBerry 10 device as well, but it's not a requirement.

As mentioned, we're going to make this an ongoing contest so more people have a chance to win, and so that those of you waiting for the BlackBerry Q10 also have a chance to enter. For the first contest, we aren't setting a theme, though future contests will have themes to make it more interesting. Everyone is eligible to enter, but please keep it to one entry per contest.

And yes, contests have prizes! So what are these prizes, you ask? We're thinking along the lines of fantastic CrackBerry swag, gift certificates to ShopCrackBerry, and whatever else we have laying around to throw in from time to time. Need some tips to help you get started? Check out the links below for more info on Story Maker and uploading your videos to Youtube. And most important, have fun!

I was really surprised by the Story Maker.
My family and I went away for a weekend together and I took some pictures and videos of everyone nothing much and without the intention of making a story video. A few days after we get home I realized the Story Maker app so I decided to see what it does and I must say in less than a minute I had a beautiful video of it all and shared it with my family everyone thought it looked really cool and professional.
You just open the app and select all the pictures and clips you want to add then the BlackBerry does its magic and you have something really nice literally in no time, you can also edit it and make it even cooler with no skills. But I won't share my video here with the public sorry

Well I LOVE story maker. I actually just used it on the weekend for my wife's 30th surprise birthday party. It took me literally 3 minutes to make. I then showed the video on the 60" tv via micro hdmi cable. Everyone lo ed it and couldn't believe that I made the video all on my BlackBerry z10. Story Maker is such a great app and I think it could get better and better.

Anyways I have loaded the video to YouTube from my z10 and I was wondering how do I enter it into the contest here?

BlackBerry Z10 and 32gb PlayBook

Yeah I saw that so I uploaded it to youtube and posted it in the forum. I should really read the full thing first. #iFailAtTheInternetz :)

The video was created using story maker for z1010. I did it the very first day I got it and send the video to my girlfriend. All the pictures and videos are from 2012 so I did not have the z10 with me. The pics and videos were taken using a video camera and a GoPro during our 2012 cuba vacation, we had 2 days of storm as u can see from the vid

Great idea! I've been meaning to make a Story Maker video for a while now, hopefully I'll be able to free up some time soon to get something done in time for the contest.

Okay, here's my submission. Don't let the title scare you, this is a politically correct Seal Hunt. It's all shot with my z10 on our ride home from school. Two bits of feedback on the process: 1. Story Maker doesn't have the ability to adjust the volume of the canned music so I did export the music and re-imported it at a lower volume so it didn't clash with the gripping dialogue. 2. Getting the video to upload from my z10 wasn't possible yet: I followed the instructions but after granting access it then presented me with a code that I was supposed to then copy and paste into my 'application'... I have no idea where to paste that code nor which application to paste it into, so hit a road block. If anyone knows what to do for that, please let me know. Anyway... on with the show...
