Whether for business or personal reasons there comes a time when you need to share contact information. While the BlackBerry operating system has always allowed for contact sharing via various methods there is nothing wrong with being presented with alternatives. You never know if you have to share information at a moment's notice or not.
HugSoft, a native BlackBerry developer has taken it upon himself to create a simple application for sharing contact information obviating the need to download or save a vCard. Rather than sending it as a MMS/vCard, Contacts Share will automatically send the name and number, and email if you wish, to the recipient as a text message without attaching a file.
The way it works is quite simple and it offers different methods. The first, and easiest, is to send as a text message. The other is to use the share method via the application to send the information entered into the fields via BBM, email, SMS, Facebook, etc. To send the name, number, and email of a person via text, enter in all of the fields on the main screen and tap on the "Send" button at the bottom. Using this method makes sharing quick and easy. To send via the share method, all you need to do is fill out the name and phone number and tap on the action menu, select share, and choose your method. The information is added as text to your preferred method (BBM, email, NFC, etc.).
If you make a mistake, have no fear, there is a reset all fields button for convenience.
Contacts Share is normally $1.99 in BlackBerry World. The developer is giving away 100 copies to our readers. As we all know how fast these free copies go be sure to follow these steps:
- Launch BlackBerry World
- Swipe down from the top and select Redeem
- Enter in this code: CONTACTSHARECBPROMOS
As a native application, Contacts Share is easy to use with a nice interface. You can find this useful application at the link below if you missed out on your free copy.
