After one of my accessory review posts, there were plenty of questions on how I managed to have two rows of icons along the bottom of the Home screen. We've actually looked at a few apps that give you this functionality but I thought I would round them up here and you can choose whichever one tickles your fancy. Take your pick.
HomeSpacer lets you create up to 30 blank icons at a time. HomeSpacer also offers wallpapers too. But if you don't want to do that just choose Simply Spaces. Then just move the slider to choose the number of blank icons you want, the tap Done. It may not look like something has happened on your homescreen. However, if you tap and hold any icon, as you would when you want to move them around, you'll find blank icon spacers with a small delete icon in the corner. Just move them to where you want to space your app icons.
HomeSpacer costs $0.99 and is available for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
Magic Icon works very much the same as HomeSpacer but doesn't offer the wallpaper feature. You can create up to 30 blank icons at a time. Magic Icon lets you add a name to the blank icon, if you want to, though this is optional. To create blank icons, just use the slider to choose the number of icons you want. Move them around the same way you would app icons.
Magic Icon costs $0.99 and is available for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
Home Screen Plus
With Home Screen Plus, you create the blank icons one at a time. Just tap the Create Icon button each time to create a blank icon. Again, move them around as you would app icons. Home Screen Plus is more than just an app that creates blank icons. It lets you create widgets, add a bar on your homescreen to display the weather and more. It also includes a wallpaper rotating feature. This app is recommended if you wish to have plenty features in one app.
Home Screen Plus is currently priced at $2.99. Available for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
The App Gap
This is just a simple blank icon app. You can create up to 5 blank icons at a time. With app gap, instead of a slider to choose the number of icons, you have tick boxes. Just tick the the number of boxes and then tap Add Invisible Icon. Move the blank icons as you would app icons.
The App Gap costs $0.99 and is available for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
What do I use? I actually used HomeSpacer the first time around but I also use Home Screen Plus for its other features. There are a number of choices as you can see. Just pick one that suits you.
There may be others out there that I didn't discover, if there are, share them in the comments, if you wish.
