Sentient- New Premium Theme From Elecite!

Elecite has got an interesting new theme available. Sentient, looking like BumbleBee from Transformers is another from their cyborg series of themes. 6 user customizable icons take front stage to help get this one started and customized icons behind the "shield" keep the flow of the theme going nicely. If you wanna see Sentient in action, be sure to check out the video here.

Sentient is currently available for the BlackBerry Curve 8900, 95xx, 96xx and finally, 9700 series devices for only $6.99, check out all the screenshots at the Elecite website.

Very "hot looking" but.. I prefer speed over visuals. I need to be able to access my full phone in a second without delays...

I have two themes by Elecite : 'Scenic' and 'Archaic' They booth looks very nice, but as functionality they suck big time. And developer never updated or fixed the bugs on those.

Got it! Totally satisfied with it.
Looks even better on my screen and works super smooth.

I had an issue before with one of their themes but thats cause I was running a 4.7 theme on a 5.0. Emailed them, moments later...received an update.

Thanks elecite, keep it coming!

I am a new Blackberry user, so this may not be unique to this theme.

I installed the Liquid Chrome Theme and I changed the Homescreen Wallpaper. When changing the wallpaper, it changes both the Homescreen and the Application List Screen backgrounds to the new image. I like it on the Homescreen, but I prefer the default on the Application List Screen, so I want to go back to the default image. When I reset to the default background, I am ONLY able to change the Homescreen back to default.

I have searched for awhile for an answer to this and I am truly stumped. Ideally, I would like to just change the Application List Screen Background back to the default image. If I must change the Homescreen as well, my second choice would be to get them both back to the default image.

I like the look of this theme overall, but this issue is giving me fits. Thanks in advance!

Elecite themes usually look great in screen shots, but perform very poorly. And they NEVER fix their bugs. $7 is way too big a gamble.

I like the individuality that themes can provide for my blackberry. Who wants the same old screen you see in the TV ads?!?! Sentient is a GREAT theme! Looks great, works well, your able to move your favorite icons to the main screen for instant access. I have over a dozen themes on my Tour, this ones in the top three. Excellent job!

I take full responsibility for my actions. Having said that, I promised myself that, after buying 5 prior Elecite themes (Hero, Archaic, Statis, Shell, and Analog) I wasn't going to shell out another $7 to them until they developed a theme that put function ahead of form. Specifically, easy access to more than 4-6 apps on the home screen, designs that didn't require me to go through two or three steps to get to a today screen, etc.

Then I saw Sentient. I watched the vid. I looked at the screen caps on Elecite's website, and you know what i did? I shelled out another damn $7. So I'm into these guys for $42 and even if you melded all 6 themes together I still wouldn't have one that works for me. I know, it's my fault. See the first sentence of this post. I keep thinking though that one day these guys are going to get it. Maybe they need a couple of testers who actually depend on their BBs for business, and need the easy access to apps from the home screen and a hidden today that just requires touching the cal icon as opposed to going through a whole process. I'd be happy to volunteer with that. Unquestionably Elecite has some of the sharpest graphics around, and they come up with some insanely original concepts. But. Their apparent belief that function should follow form doesn't work for me. It may be great for others, and I'm sure they're successful. My criticism isn't a slam or a flame, it's intended to be constructive. I really would like to see them produce a functional, graphically pleasing theme. Looks like I'll keep waiting.

My feelings exactly. Next time do what I did , just wait for a few comments then make your decision. I also have been sucked in more than once, more than four times actually. Sorry you wasted your money.

Hi guys,

We understand that some of you would like to see extra features on these themes such as hidden today, quick-access icons, etc and we do try to make each and every one of our themes as user friendly as possible regardless of its design. However, to create an extreme design like Sentient, sometimes we have to cut down on certain features such as those I mentioned earlier simply to be able to maintain the home page clutter free and to keep the navigation as simple as possible.

We will however definitely consider the need and will make sure to work on some new concepts that will include both, beautiful design and max amount of features so you never have to leave your home screen again.

Thank you all so much!

I wish all theme makers could make a xx days or hours time-out for their themes. I will never buy a theme without trying it out first. What looks amazing doesn't mean it works amazing.

This theme is great. A few suggestions, they use the signal meter to open up the connections. Maybe use the battery meter to open up profile (sounds). then in the space just above the date, make it so we can put a weather app there such as weatherberry or berryweather. If they were to add those features, I would give it 5 stars, I give it 4 now.

I think most people are complaining about the fact there is no today feature. I like the ZEN. So maybe another idea is to offer 2 versions of a theme, 1 zen, and one with today. The theme's I usually use have it set up that way, we can choose between the 2. As far as not being able to put everything on the home page, well you can tell you cant do that before you buy the theme. this theme is not for everyone, but for the ones that they are for, we love them. If elecite dont make a theme for your taste, move on, just as I do when I see a theme elsewhere that dont work for me.

But bottom line, I like the theme here. I wish elecite would update some of their other themes to 5.0, I would like to try analog, but it is not for 5.0.
