In the big realm of Twitter clients for BlackBerry, Seesmic is still looking to get ahead. Yesterday, they rolled out the latest version of Seesmic for BlackBerry. v1.4 is now available for download via the Seesmic mobile site. Seesmic has revamped the UI this time around and added some other new features to the application. As noted on their blog:
- Sound profile notifications available in the BlackBerry "Sounds" app
- Support of Ping.fm groups
- Notifications for new tweets, new replies and new direct messages
- Improved User Interface
- Picture thumbnails now displayed in the "Pictures" folder of the file explorer
- Use of XAuth with Twitter for more security
If you're still up in the air over which Twitter client is best for you. Maybe check out the latest from Seesmic, could be just what you've been looking for. Seesmic is also now available via BlackBerry App World.

The new features are nice, but the UI is now TERRIBLY large and bulky. Without a way to make the text and tweets smaller like they used to be, I wish I could downgrade.

You're right about the font. I downloaded it to give it a shot and quickly deleted.

=little interest? Will this client be as much of a leaker as the in house one? But on the other hand lighter than UT? If so, I might interested.

right on, the fonts are the system fonts. We will let our users customize the font in another update very soon.
Thanks also Crackberry for the story.

It would be even better if the earlier issues posted here are given a thought to in the next update of the app. What would be even better is that if the app had the 'twitlonger' system too, like ubertwitter :)

No offense, but TwitLonger kills the whole Twitter purpose. If you need to write something longer than 140 characters, make a blog.

i think seesmic still has work to do if it wants to be able to compete with Uber and SocialScope in my opinion.
Those are my top two twitter clients, seesmic just doesnt do it for me.

I also read about this one and thought on giving it a try, but after a couple of times of using it, started to tell me that my name and password had changed so i couldn't log in anymore...
