I am looking to buy a new home and what a great house warming gift this would be for me. The opportunity to lose one more key off my keychain and have the opportunity to open my door remotely. How cool is that?
Knockz Aug 25, 2010 at 12:05 pm
Ever since my dog learned how to open and close the doors on his own he has been coming in and out at his own free will. I told the wife about it and she thinks I am going crazy. She is never there when I see it happening. The logs from this will PROVE he is guilty and she will then see I am not crazy. Those bitches in the neighborhood are gonna miss him.
dhverrico Aug 25, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Fingers crossed!!
ringmaster#cb Aug 25, 2010 at 12:38 pm
I've been looking for exactly this sort of product. It sounds like the perfect solution to a new problem. Our city decided to rip out all the trees in an easement behind my house and put in a bike path to give miscreants from another part of town better access to our neighborhood. As a result, I'm looking for new security devices. This would help us sleep better!
tellmebb Aug 25, 2010 at 12:42 pm
I'd like to win this with the peace of mind of knowing when people enter and leave the house and knowing that I'll always be able to get into the house without a key!
jerryw#cb Aug 25, 2010 at 12:49 pm
When I read on your site that you would be giving away a Schlage Starter Kit,
I thought to myself "This is going to be a hit!"
You asked us to leave a comment.
You wanted us to tell you why we cannot live without it.
It didn't take long for me to see.
I though to myself, "I would no longer have to use a key!"
I can now assign codes left and right.
I can log events day and night.
This is the truth, not a wise-tale.
You can get texts and even email.
With this kit you can turn on a light and save some energy.
Remotely grant access to your home and all from a Blackberry.
So, if you looking for home automation control, and you wish to ride the Z-Wave,
Remember the ones' at Schlage and Crackberry who offered this give-away.

Its is 105 degrees here today. I would love to be able to turn my AC on when i Leave work so I don't sweat when I get home. Can't afford to run it all day. Big money, no whammy....

I finally have the pleasure of being a full time father. Unfortunately I still have to work to pay the bills and as a result I have a great team of family members recruited to babysit. While I trust each and every one of them without question(they are going to have my kid after all), i don't much like the idea of making 15 house keys to hand out to everyone. This set up will let me assign access codes to my most freequent sitters while also letting me know they are there when my little one is getting off the bus. How perfect for this busy dad!
rottguy22 Aug 26, 2010 at 12:54 am
I would love to win one. I have been trying to design a security system for my home, as our dog is getting older and not as active as he once was. My wife doesn't understand all the benefits of the "bells and whistles" that come with new high tech toys such as this. So, if I were to get one, I would be able to show her what advantages there are with going with a security system that is high tech and not just one that monitors the doors and windows. Please help me sell her on the idea by picking me for one of these.
Thanks..
Bandi1 Aug 26, 2010 at 1:01 am
I can't live without a Schlage Link System because my kids keep losing/forgetting their keys and one of us has to come home to let them in. :(
d3lta#cb Aug 26, 2010 at 8:24 am
I love the idea of all-in-one devices. Making my blackberry capable of opening and starting my car, opening and monitoring my home, using it as a calculator, email, gps, etc is simply amazing. All the locks at my house are Schlage and I've never had any issues getting an electronic one to play with would simply be amazing. Since the kits expandable with temperature control, I'd even be able to change the temperature while away - forget to turn off the AC or heat when going to work - all I'd need to do is hit a few keys on my phone!
revaskie Aug 26, 2010 at 2:18 pm
This would be perfect for me since I have locked myself out of the house more than once and had to call my husband back home to let me in. One of us could just call the house and get in. Perfect for when we are out of town and our housesitter has any issues as well.
Yakkolite Aug 26, 2010 at 4:59 pm
We come from a family of 10 and have many nieces and nephews come to our house to use our Internet or just a place to crash. We could use one of these starter kits so we can stop making keys for everyone.
Thank you!
Ahhk Aug 27, 2010 at 12:34 am
Just bought a house and this would be great starter system (with 3 kids)!
I wanna win! :)
jsmith2#cb Aug 27, 2010 at 11:19 am
This would be ideal for those instances where someone locks the door, and forgets their keys. I can let them back in remotely.
blindguy Aug 27, 2010 at 12:53 pm
I would like to win this because it's frackin' awesome! Thanks for the contest.

gasparro99 Aug 27, 2010 at 3:27 pm
You know how they say..."You never know when opportunity will knock!" Well shoot, what if I'm not home!
If I win, I'll never have to worry about this again. I can just say "Hey Opportunity, I'm buzzing you in now. Go on in and make yourself at home. I'll be there in 15."

My house absolutely needs this. Goodbye 1910, hella 2010.
GeminiPilot Aug 28, 2010 at 3:11 am
I currently have an offer in on my first home, and would love to have the Schlage LiNK grace my front door. I heard it was bump key and lock pick proof which makes this lock bitchin. I have a slight case of ocd when it comes to my doors being locked, whether at home or at work. I cannot count the times I have just got onto the highway and had to turn around because I thought I had left the door unlocked. It would be so incredible and save me a lot of time if I was able to check the lock status from my Crackberry! I think this is an awesome system and would love to give it a try. Thank you.
Dr.Boost Aug 28, 2010 at 1:26 pm
I am a single father with custody of my two wonderful boys. My boys are getting to the age where they can get off the bus and be alone for an hour or so. Having the Schlage LiNK would really be a nice security blanket for Dad. I would know when they got home as well they would not need keys which raises a security concern as well.
I have been wanting to get involved since the conception of this idea. Beings I do not receive any support financial or physically from the other parent, I have been strapped to the point that this wabt/need has taken a back seat.
I have considered at tax time investing into this. However winning the contest would allow me to shift money towards fun things for my two boys. :) Which we know makes for a happy house hold.
Thanks for the consideration and thanks for offering these to us Crackberry users!
Sincerely,
Jeff

I HAVE TO HAVE THIS!!!
bad_boy321 Aug 28, 2010 at 6:33 pm
Being deployed overseas off and on has its pros and cons. My children use the house in the summer to swim and often have issues with keys. This would allow me to control whats going on and who's entering the house. We are all concerned about family safety and being counter-terrorism expert, this would be wonderful device and provide some peace of mind when I'm away chasing bad guys.
I certainly would love to have one.

JackatMac Aug 29, 2010 at 9:02 am
I'm studying and have a small room next to the university. When I leave I have to lock done my gadgets (Mac, ipad,...) :-)
dervari Aug 29, 2010 at 9:10 am
With all the people wanting to protect their kids, beer, and unsecured yachts (who really has a yacht without a lock on the door?) I really have no story to go up against those comments. I can still hope I prevail, though.

skwerrel Aug 29, 2010 at 4:52 pm
I know a lot about security from professional associates and work, and have been very satisfied with keyed schlage locksets in the past, HOWEVER - the one thing that scares me is that I have raised a child to adulthood that is on it's own...but it keeps coming back! Usually in the dead of night, with little sneaky feet, or when I'm away, only to discover I have been family-burgled! Food, printer paper, shampoo, clothes, you name it - it's been lifted and gone forever! And heaven forbid I ask said adult child "hey, where has my pot roast, nail polish remover, toilet paper, chocolate truffles, yadda, disappeared to?" all I get in response is " I dunno know" or "why should I know?" delivered with a totally innocent face and sing song tone, while looking me DEAD in the eye! So I NEED this to either prove poltergeists exist, OR to nail the culpret - and it's more fun than installing a moat with alligators and cheaper to maintain, also... I just love gadgets! PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE pick me ;)
c_86 Aug 29, 2010 at 6:57 pm
this would be sweet to have! count me into this contest!
DanD2 Aug 29, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Why can't I live without it???? Oh man where do I start...
***Being the good dad that I am, I let my 22 year old son come into the house whenever he wants, this would be a good way to monitor when he goes in
***We're away alot and this such a good home monitoring system with all the add ons, it would be great to monitor the house, as it is now, I have my brother in-law come over all the time to check things out.
***Speaking of my brother in-law, this would be a great tool to be able to let him in when we're away
***I need new locks anyways, the keys on my current go in hard and it's getting difficult to turn
***My wife calls me a gadget guy, I can't live up to that reputation if I don't have a Schlage LiNK!!
KnappyRootz Aug 29, 2010 at 9:41 pm
Hope I win!!!
corrence Aug 29, 2010 at 9:42 pm
In the past, we've been a fairly open and inviting bunch, allowing people to come and go as they please and hang out in the house. The day for change has come.
After we recently suffered a rash of thievery, involving a Flip HD vid cam, Canon SLR camera, laptop, and other various electronic accessories. (Fortunately, nothing for the 'berries in the house) We're now in search of some way to still allow the people that we know, love, and trust to come over without sacrificing security.
I had seen when Crackberry ran a review on the Schlage home system and after these events, it has been a heavy competitor to be installed in the house.
This would be a *perfect* opportunity to try the system out and see just how much more peace of mind it provides for us. Luckily, we're fortunate enough to have Crackberry running their awesome contests! Thanks for this chance!

rednex269 Aug 29, 2010 at 10:56 pm
I would love to be able to keep my family safe! I have been trying to become "internet" ready at the house and this would fit the bill.. I think it would really be awesome if I have to evacuate for a hurricane and be able to unlock/lock the doors via internet.. possibly for neightbors that may be able to return to their homes before i COULD.. also... for the one time I evacuated and left my keys to my home 6 hours away...
Try finding a locksmith right after hurricane rita in Lake Charles, LA!
beasleybiz Aug 29, 2010 at 10:58 pm
I already have their keypad entry front door. The deadbolt would be awesome, and the ability to monitor from my BB would make me the ultimate Crackberry G33k.
BlackBerryies are My Life Aug 29, 2010 at 11:05 pm
I need this the most my neighborhood is filled with crime please choose me to win thanks.
Kirbentech Aug 29, 2010 at 11:39 pm
Between running or cycling and preferring to leave keys at home, to eliminating the hassle of hiding a spare key (in case we forget our keys...), or to granting single-use limited access to trusted friends or neighbors in case we need a computer rebooted (if the remote desktop management program hangs), or to even our chef friend who loves to surprise us with a much needed gourmet meal, this is one welcomed application / system.
This would make my day, but it would be a super time and stress-saver for my wife.
