If you’re on the hunt for a simple, yet addictive game for the BlackBerry PlayBook much like Run in Crowd, then look no further! While hunting through BlackBerry App World I came across a new game called Canabalt HD and I’m hooked. The premise of the game is to run and keep running. As you ensure that your character is running through buildings and over rooftops, you’ll want to be aware of falling debris and collapsing buildings. While Adam already introduced the game to the CrackBerry Nation, I wanted to show just how you can beat the odds and run for your life.

Features

  • Select between classic 2D artwork or new 3D artwork
  • 3D backgrounds
  • Smooth animation
  • Track your performance on online high score boards
  • Immersive soundtrack
  • Fast-pased platform action game

Now, the game is a side-scroller so those who are not a fan of that style of game play probably won’t enjoy this one. If you haven’t watched the video above and are trying to figure out just how the game plays, think of a watered down version of Mirrors Edge without all the fancy sliding and end of level bosses.  I truly recommend taking a look at the video before placing judgment. Canabalt HD can be found for the BlackBerry PlayBook in App World for $2.99, a slightly high price, but trust me, you’ll have hours of fun with this game.

A very nervous BlackBerry fan here. I am amazed that for a tablet that prides itself on work and productivity, there are so many games being pushed by Crackberry.com.

It would be nice to see more reviews of work apps, instead of just games/entertainment.

Eh. Until it's $.99 or less, this is good enough for me. http://www.canabalt.com/
