I Love the Bold, but I have had the worst experiences with AT&T. I will be sticking to T-mobile from now on. And with the Javelin coming soon, I will be very happy

in the AT&T store near me. it was my first experience with one and I have to say its very nice. I like the feel of the keys alot, and while the actual OS was locked down [AT&T password protected it], the trackball had a very nice, crisp action. My only complaint is the combination of the logo button and the back button into one rocker key. While it does make sense from a design and use standpoint [most people don't press them rapidly in an alternating pattern], I just don't care for it.
Glad to see someone else like it during their first experience.

but I really like her review of the bold and seeing that beautiful thing in action really makes me want one! It seems everyone has at least a few loving comments about the bold.

I can tell that she really liked the look of the Bold, like she was holding a piece of technological wonder in her hands. Interesting review...I can't wait to see the others.

I'm sorry, I did not like this review. Reviewer sounds like one of those nice people who refuse to dog anything when reviewing it. She made no conclusions either way at the end.

While I'm sure she's a nice lady, she doesn't come across in this review as a smartphone expert. She comes across as a "phone of the day" consumer. No review of using the calendar, getting things done, or even the browser. Just "Look how pretty it is. I love the keyboard. The End"

as a former treo user (going back a few years) the second i got my hands on BB i was hooked, I think this will be another BB user hooked after a few days with the Bold

Anyways i remember back then when the suppoused leaked images of the bold appeared on this site,, and how almost everyone hated the form factor, calling it ugly and unberry-like, and now one of its strong points is how good it looks, i think RIM really made an effort making the bold his flagship device everything about it screams quallity, im sticking with my curve for now but im seriously thinking upgrading for the bold.

I'm still waiting for my Storm to arrive (FedEX says Monday), but it is still pretty clear to me that Blackberry is the way to go.

Comparing this Video Firstlook with Dieter and Kevin's, there was a distinct lack of critical analysis. I understand this is only a first look and not a final review, but I would have appreciated a more in-depth look at the Bold's features (ie. Calendar, E-mail, Browser).

And wow, I got the heebie-jeebies when she started poking at the screen. That's... just not right.

I'm more curious to see her final impressions. If the Bold can't sway her, no BB will. From what I've seen so far, the Bold is definitely the best phone for me.

This is my third BB. I hate to leave the room without it. Let alone leave the house. My Bold & my Amex card go every where with me. This is the best smartphone out today. I haven't personally tried the new 'Storm', but from what I've heard & read on the forums the Storm is not turning out to be the be all, to end all BlackBerry. The Bold is Way above the rest.

I am a total treo convert. Touch screens are cool but my Curve has made me sing the praises of RIM. Simply put my Curve is in my hand Treo 680 in a box in the back of the closet.

I got carried away when I was tapping the screen and cringed when I saw that on the video! Sorry about that!

I know that I didn't cover everything in my video review but I'll try to cover more stuff in my written review. That was only the second video I'd ever made. It took forever to make because I had to keep stopping and starting over.

The Treo 650 was my first Palm smartphone. My bio needs to be updated. I got into the smartphone game late and missed out on all the first ones.

I do love the Bold! If I didn't have to get a separate data plan, the BB plan, I would buy one. I wish I could just switch out my SIM card but I can't because my plan is the PDA data plan. I had to switch to the BB plan so I could do the review, but I'll have to switch back before I start using my Treo and Centro again.

I have no intention of giving up my Bold, but the Round Robin is great - I love seeing what people who usually use a certain OS think of others.

that should be a lesson to RIM, that maybe some type of keyboard/touch screen display with a trackball is needed...hmmm.

should we see something next year?

No a very indepth review - the only thing I learned is that a finger nail to a Bolds screen should never EVER be done, and that only boring people assign "Nothing" to one of the convience keys.

I really liked the video of the bold and all of its feature, as well as comparing it to other smartphones. I do like all the features of the bold, but ever since I got the storm, I don't know if I can go back to a non-touchscreen, physical querty keyboard blackberry. There would be too many times I would want to just go to a spot on the screen and instead of having the luxury of clicking on it, I would have to scroll to it using the trackball. Plus I have the advantage of having double the screen size.

I'm pretty sure when I have kids I'll have no problem dropping them off at daycare in other people's care, but no one gets to touch my BB. Hearing her tapping your screen sent shudders down my spine.

I got a chance to plaY WITH MY hOMies Bold, I liked it. Being that I just got the curve 3 weeks ago, AT&T w\2yr. I can't aford to pay the cost to "upgrade". I did however update the OS to 4.5 and add the bphone Zen theme then added a nice new wallpaper, to make myself feel better. Maybe in a few years....huh!!!

I saw Jennifer's review and couldn't help to notice that she really didn't have nothing negative to say about the Bold (short of the touchscreen). She didn't talk about the software or anything... so aside the hardware factor i wouldn't be surprised to see her grab a BBerry but next year's round robin!

I finally went into an ATT store the other day to try the bold out, and I must say I was very impressed. It is so fast and the keyboard is amazing, I'm a long time blackberry user, and currently carry a curve, I won a storm in a raffle at work which I've yet to receive, (why they wouldn't put one aside for an internal contest is beyond me, but whatever) Even though that one is completely free, I might have to pick up a bold, it is just so fast I'm amazed.

Seems BBs keep getting dumped on for poor home screens.
I kinda see where it's coming from though.

JENNIFER SEEM VERY POSITIVE ABOUT THE BOLD. SHE SEEMED TO APPRECIATE THE FUNCTION AND FORM THE BOLD OFFERED.

Im a VERY big fan of the Bold. But im a verizon customer, so i can only hope that it (the Bold) will eventually make its way there or that the Blackberry Niagara is not a myth, yet a device that will be released to us CDMA customers in Q1 of 2009...but as i said before. I CAN ONLY HOPE!

Who knows, the Curve 8900 may possibly make its way to Verizon by Q2. Just not a fan of the touchscreen keyboard on the Storm, so i'll wait it out for the next Verizon Blackberry. Patience may pay off! "I can only hope." lol

I was pretty set on getting a storm, until I went to the ATT store and tried the Bold, its one nice phone. Now I am torn between the two. My contract is up with Verizon, and ATT just brought 3G to our market, so I don't know which one to get.

I've read her reviews on Treo Central and she is very knowledgeable about the phones themselves. You can know a lot about something, but be a tad nervous when it comes to actually demonstrating it sight-unseen via video.

I agree with the good things said about Jennifer. It was funny when she tapped on the screen pretending she thought for a moment it was a touch screen. Those screens are tough and I'm sure she read up on them before doing that.

I'm sure with time she'll be more relaxed in front of the camera and be better able to convey her thoughts to those of us who watch these videos to learn more about our next phone purchase possibility.
