Another great game from Unity graces us with its presence on BlackBerry 10, although at the time of writing this it only supports the BlackBerry Z10. If you think this one is like Cut the Rope think again as Rope Rescue is totally unique. If you like a great game with a slice of puzzleness (I may have made up that word) thrown in for good measure then you need to check this one out.
The concept of the game sounds easy. Your character is a beautiful bird and you must use him to drag a length of rope around the on-screen wheels to release another bird from a cage. The quicker you do this and the less rope you use will depict your score and how many feathers (out of three) you are awarded.
Of course - it isn't that simple as there will be knives, cannons and bats within the wheels which will all break the rope - so you need to use your brain with this one. Some levels will require you to use two ropes and there's even the odd level which is pretty much in darkness. Once you play the game for the first time you will be shown what to do over the first few levels, but after that you're on your own.
There are seven different sections of the game with each containing twelve levels. The seventh one requires unlocking which is achieved by collecting butterflies along the way. As you would expect with a game from Unity the graphics are delightful - bursting with vibrant colors. That combined with some sweet 'birdie' sound effects and smooth game play makes for a real sweet game.
Is it worth the £2.00/$2.99 price tag? You bet it is. It's another one of those games that once you start playing you just can't stop.
