Alright, so I know posting this application I'm only going to be catering to a small audience since it's currently only available for Rogers and Fido customers. But yesterday marked the launch of Rogers BlackBerry, iPhone and Android Sportsnet application for those who need their sports fix on the go.
"Sportsnet's mobile applications will ensure that Sportsnet fans will get their Sportsnet updates no matter where they are," said Claude Galipeau, SVP, Digital Media, Rogers Media Inc. "These applications expand Sportsnet's content directly into the hands of sports aficionados everywhere."
Since Sportsnet teamed up with Polar Mobile to create the app, you have access to customize it. The customization options allow you to target what news it is you want to see. Be it National Hockey League (NHL), National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA) news, it's all there for updated and pushed to your device. Pretty sweet for sports fans.

What is Rogers trying to prove by making this exclusive? The Score is the app to beat right now so why not get everybody downlaoding this thing... unless its crap?
TheBBman Jan 27, 2010 at 10:44 am
Well I tried to Download it. But it tells me that it's not for my carrier or my device. I am using the 9700 on a Fido network???
I sent an email and waiting for there reply.

Ive been looking for a program, so I can right 10pg messages on text messaging.

Using a 9700 Bold, this Rogers app doesn't appear in App World and the link doesn't work when you go to download it. May take afew days...
ScoreMobile is the must-have app right now for Blackberry sports fans, and this won't change that. But there is kind of a void for good sports NEWS, since ESPN/TSN doesn't have a true sports app (though their mobile sites are decent).
The Hockey News is a decent app for NHL fans, but I'm not a huge fan of the format.

scoremobile is hard to beat
AlMcCausland Jan 27, 2010 at 1:45 pm
You do not have it for the BOLD 9700 on AT&T. Do you when you'll have it?

Ooh, look - a shortcut on a Rogers phone to another Rogers product. Free? I don't think so. Believe me, we're paying for it EVERY day of our contracts...

@TheBBman. This should now be fixed.
CHorden1 Jan 27, 2010 at 3:59 pm
What's this? "this application is not available for your device and/or carrier"?
Is it possible this has been restricted to Rogers/ Fido users?
I am using a Bell 9700, OS 5.0.0.423

Let me get this straight ... a Canadian sports application for BB with no CFL? Are you kidding me?? Instantly deleted and I'll stick with ScoreMobile.

I tried downloading this today and got the same message as referenced above that it was not available for my device and/or carrier.
Maybe it's because I'm in the US. I really just wanted it for NHL info. The more info the merrier.
