A tear came to my eye when I read the above mailer from Rogers, along with a vision of the movie Old School and Will Ferrell singing "Dust in the Wind" at Old Blue's funeral. It seems the trusty BlackBerry 7290 is going to officially become a piece of RIM nostalgia as it is being discontinued by Rogers. They're still available while supplies last...it might be worth picking one of these bad boys up and leaving the shrink wrap on. Ya never know...it might worth something in 50 years. Thanks to our Rogers Dude for sending this in. You're My Boy Blue! You're My Boy!!

Also, I believe that this is the model that my uncle uses - very trusty old thing, he's had it since it came out!
I, on the other hand, am a proud owner of a Curve!
Dang! I've been chomping at the bit to own one of those. Oh yeah, well, maybe not. Regardless, RIP.
Yea, I had one of those until the curve came out. I still keep rubbing the side of my curve, expecting a wheel.
Still using the 7290. I’ve always said I won't replace her until she finally breaks... But SHE JUST WON'T! I keep dropping her and dropping her to no avail. What an incredible product. She was forced on me by a former employer. I couldn't stand it. It was like an arranged marriage. Now, I can't live without her features. I simply want more; younger, sexier, more features. I doubt any replacement will be able to survive 1/10 the abuse. She won’t be going into the trash, that’s for sure!
