Last!!!... Wait, what?..
killzone22 May 8, 2012 at 4:30 pm
Alright So When is the 9790 getting the update?? Come on Rogers!! Show some improvement!! We want our updates!!
Bla1ze May 8, 2012 at 4:33 pm
Seriously, at this point why even bother waiting for "official" updates? Just download the latest leaked version and call it a day and be happy. This Rogers version is the highest official release available for the 9900 and it's junk compared to the leaked .402.

Bla1ze.. any noticeable differences between OS version 7.1.0.342 and 7.1.0.402? .342 is working great and giving me great battery life... but if .402 is even better, I'll take the leap and upgrade.
Bla1ze May 8, 2012 at 4:58 pm
Best to look in the forums on the matter and see the differences. Where I been crossing states for the past few weeks, I have no valid perception of actual battery life and such on any of the OS' available currently as mine have all been brutalized due to roaming and attending BlackBerry World where coverage was sketchy -- to say the least lol.
Joltcola1234 May 8, 2012 at 7:49 pm
I fail to see how it is "junk" compared to .402. There is really no noticeable difference between the two variations of the OS. There wasn't even much noticeable difference between .342 and .402, aside from a couple of changes to the firewall for BES, and maybe one or two other things that most users will have no interest in.
It seems like every time you have something to say these days it comes across as bitter, like you have bug up your @$$. No offense intended, you just keep coming across that way imo.
Kamika007z May 8, 2012 at 10:09 pm
Dude, calm down. He has an opinion too you know. The only one that seems to have a bug up their "@$$" is you.
Oh and for the record .391 is garbage. RIM needs to start offering updates, not carriers. RIM knows their products better than any carrier does.

+1
I would love RIM to push updates and not the carriers

thatMikeguy May 8, 2012 at 4:37 pm
Finally.
gorang May 8, 2012 at 4:45 pm
Well that only took couple months more than most, I guess they were too busy sucking subscribers blood.
Lucksters May 8, 2012 at 4:49 pm
hello Crackberry nation,
Can anyone help me… when i am installing the new os 7.1 update from rogers on my bold 9900 …it keeps freezing when backing up the device.and doesn't go past the backup stage any help would be great ..
yvpan1 May 8, 2012 at 6:21 pm
i think it's something to do with the 2nd vendor.xml file preventing you to go ahead. just search from the forums to get some guides. Meanwhile, if you find any difficulties in backing up, just utilize the BB Protect and proceed the update WITHOUT backing up your device. it will run smoother.. good luck!
Lucksters May 9, 2012 at 11:34 am
Hi there , thanks for the advice .. but sadly I can't find anything on how to prevent this from not happening. If I decided not to back up my device .. will I lose all my contacts? i dont really care for anything else.. i just need my address book saved ..
victoria1111 May 9, 2012 at 1:29 am
The same thing happened to me.. how did you fix it?
RoseBud68 May 8, 2012 at 5:04 pm
Well that leave AT&T as the last carrier that has not yet release the new OS.
416to604 May 8, 2012 at 5:37 pm
updated my bold earlier today and its running buttery smooth with some new features. better late than never rogers

alpinechem May 8, 2012 at 5:37 pm
i have 7.1.0.402 i am very happy with it.
slagman5 May 8, 2012 at 6:50 pm
Great, so everyone and their freakin' mothers will get this 7.1 update before AT&T will. I'm seriously sick of AT&T being the last to get everything lately... I remember I had to wait like a month or more after everyone else had the Bold 9900 before I could get it on AT&T...
Graheem May 8, 2012 at 6:57 pm
So why not dl .402 the leak or other carrier (if available)?
RoseBud68 May 8, 2012 at 10:17 pm
There has been issues with the leak version on AT&T. Callers on other end could not hear you.
ThaMunsta May 8, 2012 at 7:52 pm
And here I thought rogers would never come out with a new update lmao... Meh I'm sticking with 402
TheEliteOne May 8, 2012 at 7:54 pm
.402 for AT&T users causes a mic issue where callers cannot always here you. If you have AT&T stayyyy away !
theKHMERboy May 8, 2012 at 8:14 pm
Wow finally.. This is what I been waiting for.. Gonna update it as soon as I get home from work
GapBoyPCS May 8, 2012 at 8:33 pm
I manage to get this download back on Friday night through checking updates from my Bold.
I love the Hotspot feature (so now I can use my iPhone for data). The downfall is how much that drains the battery.
The only problem I had was BlackBerry Bridge. It stopped working after the update. I deleted it, and reinstalled it from App World. So far, things are good.
ELvolution May 9, 2012 at 12:07 am
Great update, getting great battery life again.
tygros May 9, 2012 at 12:10 am
.402 Works great for me on AT&T - didn't hear of any caller issues until I'd read it on here a week after launch. No one on other side of the calls ever complained. Make sure you del Vendor, etc...
freestyl101 May 9, 2012 at 2:24 am
No blackberry tag???
nickbettschen May 9, 2012 at 7:18 am
anyone else having a problem with mobile hotspot i have a 6gb plan and it wyill wont work
litig8or98 May 9, 2012 at 12:08 pm
I'm done applying updates to this thing. Everytime I do, I lose access to any apps that I installed and then subsequently uninstalled. At least without upgrading, I can go back and re-install from appworld. Updating makes that option disappear.
TheStrider May 9, 2012 at 1:27 pm
So they've released it for the 9900 but not 9810... 7.1 has been out for MONTHS. Gimme a break!
theKHMERboy May 9, 2012 at 4:21 pm
yeah its about time i am just loading the new os onto my phone right now... wow 7.1 had been released for months and now its about time blackberry start rolling out nad concentrating on the new blackberry 10 and now rogers is deciding to roll out the 7.1 os.. so late.. and i agree i think rim should push the os updates on phones not the carriers cause rogers is like 20x more slower then all the other company and it sucks for rogers customers
doodie1231 May 10, 2012 at 12:20 am
att is slower lol
world traveler and former ceo May 10, 2012 at 10:48 am
