Canadian carrier Rogers has received court approval for its acquisition of Mobilicity and Shaw's AWS spectrum, completing a deal that will see the carrier pick up a significant amount of spectrum compatible with its LTE devices.

Rogers Communications, a leading diversified Canadian telecommunications and media company, said that it received all requisite governmental, creditor and court approvals and has completed the acquisitions of both Mobilicity and Shaw's AWS wireless spectrum as announced last Wednesday, June 24, 2015.
Now that the deal has received regulatory approval, Rogers customers in British Columbia, Alberta, and Southern Ontario should see boosted speeds. Additionally, according to information released last week, Rogers and WIND Mobile will exchange AWS-1 spectrum to create a continuous spectrum area for Rogers.
