Do BlackBerry devices work with their data? Their website doesn't say.

The plans aren't as flexible/cheap as one would hope, that being said the 3 day unlimited talk/text + 200MB data looks attractive at $25 for a 3 day trip to the States. Especially when Telus is charging me 60 cents a text message (send and receive) when I'm in the US.

All data plans are bought in bulk and expire in 30 days (minimum package starts at 29.95).

True..
I spend $28 for 4MB data and 56 min talk and 5 sms sent in US with Wind mobile. Same would have cost me triple with Rogers.

But when read more I found T-Mobile Prepaid is much cheaper with maximum $3/day for unlimited talk + text + data.
Disadvantage is their calling and talking within US only while Roam mobity gives calling to Canada too. Your number expire after 30 days of inactive instead of one year with Roam mobity.

This would allow Kevin to buy another $500 clock app! Brilliant!!

So who has something similar for folks from US spending lots of time in Canada? It is easy to get cheap calling but so far, cheap data for Canadian visitors has yet to be found.

This is less than half the price of canadian roaming plans that you buy in advance of the trip. Plus you can buy more once you're already in the US - cannot do that with canadian carriers. Looking forward to my next trip.

I can't speak to voice/sms roaming, but I know that both Rogers and Bell have BlackBerry plans for North American use. If you have a plan for X amount of data for $Y, there is an equivalent plan for $(Y+10) for the same amount of data that can be used across the continent. Since it's easy to hit $10 in roaming charges, I simply switch my plan to the North America version whenever I head to the US, even if only for a few days. It's always worth it to me.

This is great news! I go to the US all the time so this is good.

According to their website, BIS and BES don't work yet
http://www.roammobility.com/support/Using-Roam-Mobility-with-a-Blackberr...
"If you have an unlocked Blackberry, get the Roam SIM Card and insert it into your smartphone. You can purchase a Talk+Text plan based on how many days you'll be travelling. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use your existing Blackberry messenger service (BIS and BES) while using the Roam SIM Card. We are working on enabling BIS and BES on our network - watch this page for updates."

I swear I looked for this before I committed! I did not see it and went all out for a 7 day plan. Was upset to learn that it was not available once I landed in the US. However, customer service was good about refunding me for the data portion of my plan.

Perhaps the article could be updated to reflect the lack of BIS/BES support so that others don't need to read the comments or possibly find out the hard way?

We bought 2 breeze phones for my wife's trip to Las Vagas, we were told several times by phone by the sales personnel the the phones would be activated from the time they were turned on the 1st day until that midnight when our Paid Plans would start, this would allow to confirm the phones would work.
Upon turning on the phones and attempting to make a call home the phones will not work and now we are told that the initial "Grace period was only 12 hours -- and is nullified/cancelled when the plans were bought.
So now my wife is stuck without a phone because of the lies we were told over the past week by everyone we spoke with.
There will be a lot less business for this company from any of our friends.
At least Tracphone is upfront with their customers.
I am happy to report that after being contacted by the CEO at Roam Mobility the issue has been resolved, hopefully no one else will experience this issue.
