Surprising.

Oh, great. I would definitely want to work for an employer that just laid a whole bunch of people off!

:)

Sorry, couldn't resist doing that!

I'm sure all those people they just sacked would love to have their jobs back.

Yeah if they had an office in Arizona I'd work there in a heart beat :)

Sorry to shatter the dreams but here in the US RIM stands for recession in motion. No jobs available and our phone sales are flat :(

That's because, as I've said on here before, Americans are the most part half-brain dead morons who can't think for themselves and must blindly follow the media.

+1

What does half brain morons have to do with the fact that there's a recession going on not only in the US but world wide. Furthermore RIM sales are flat here in the US regardless of the anti RIM news articles. Thank God for the BB faithful cause RIM would be in worse shape.

Really? Do you speak for yourself or for everyone? Do you assume this point of view for your fellow Americans? Or are you just a douchie trollster with too much time on your hands?

Who cares what it stands for in the US?? There's Canada and the rest of the world where RIM is still very successful. This is a Canadian HR company giving its ranking to another Canadian company. The media brainwash in the US doesn't shatter my dreams!

You've got anger issues my Canadian friend. Stop bashing the US. If it wasn't for us buying your maple syrup you guys wouldn't have a economy and if it wasnt for us the Mexican army would have taken over your igloos lol. Only kidding people. Serious though I love Blackberry but Would like to see more blackberry exposure here in the US.

No anger issues here - not bashing the US, which is a great nation - just stating facts. I'm actually more impartial than you think. I'm British but live in Canada. I've noticed (generally) that there is a distinct lack of knowledge about things Canadian in the US. I agree though, that the US market is huge and important (though not the only one, as many Americans seem to think) and RIM has dropped the ball there marketing-wise.

I see your point victor. Many Americans are swayed by the media but not all. I rarely see RIM advertising here in the US nowadays. I believe a more aggressive approach is needed. RIM must be a great employer but staying stagnant in the US won't help them become a better employer.

i sure as heck don't believe that. how does a company earn this and at the same time its reported laying off a few thousand employees

Posted by sk8er_tor Friday, Sep 30, 2011 238 days ago

This report is looking at how good the jobs are, how employees are treated while employed there, how much you get paid, the benefits you earn. RIM may have laid off a bunch of people, but they had hired as many people since February. They are focusing on a new OS and they have QNX employees so why would they need employees who are working on the old system? Of course they're going to lay those people off.

Posted by Joel_Zimmerman Friday, Sep 30, 2011 238 days ago

Hmm, maybe it laid too many off and needs more to keep going… XD

RIM should open an office here in Puerto Rico and I would defenetly apply for a job.

If only I studied in those fields back when I was in school, I would love to work for rim!

Posted by CrackBerryHarry Friday, Sep 30, 2011 237 days ago

This is part of the problem and partly why RIM is suckin gas and needed to lay off a couple thousand people. Too many people at RIM were sitting around doing absolutely nothing - and admitted to it - and got paid to do it (or not so much). Too much waste at RIM makes RIM fat and lazy. Hopefully they smarten up over there. I really couldn't care less whether they're a good place to work - they need to be a good place to make money!!! It's the economy stoopid!
