An interesting app. Would some current users of this app comment on how well it work, the automation thing is what I'm interested in.

I have the old version on by 9800 and my 9930 - it's by far one of the most used on my 9800 which I use for work. It's integrated so you only need to set up your conference details once and whenever you schedule a meeting, it will automatically add the details to your meeting. When someone else sends you a meeting request, it will pick up the conference details so you can autojoin the call.

When time for the meeting it will give an option to join now and will autodial the conference # and code. It's helpful for those who know how tediousit can be if your joining a conference call but not sitting next to your computer.

I have the old version on my Torch 9860. I have used it on my 9800 and 9700 and I liked it well enough on there. It would find the conference call and pass code numbers just fine in the calendar entry and prompt me to join the call. The only problem i have now is that I cannot download the new version. When I try to refresh, app world it says there is a problem and app world needs to close

I have the original version 1.0.0.50 and App World will not download the new version 2.0 until the older format is removed/deleted. I have uninstalled, rebooted twice and still receiving the same message that 2.0 will not install. It does however offer to reinstall 1.0.0.50.

Edit: Bold 9930

I am having the same problem. I removed 1.0 and it i do not get the choice to install 2.0 but rather re install 1.0

EDIT: Workaround is to reinstall 1.0, refresh the apps and you would be offered to upgrade to 2.0

They should just build this into the OS for BBX. It would be nice to have them build in Blackberry Travel and Phone Conferencing into the OS, so it becomes a core part of everyday usage rather than an app.

I love the functionality of both, but it would be more useful if you could quickly share travel plans and conference information (even BBM Group Video Chats) with other blackberry users.

Totally agree. Have always felt they need to integrate their better apps into the OS. They finally did this with BB Protect on OS 7 (in a way).

Does anyone know why things like this are restricted to the US ?

I've been using 1.041 for ahile now, and it makes a HUGE difference who is constantly on conference calls. It really picks up the dial-in, and does it all automatically. So now I don't have to edit them to put an X, (or remember a 16 digit number).

My first attempt to install this failed, the second attempt worked. I didn't do anything differently the second time...

I use this daily and it is fantastic. Look forward to the update. It gets the dial-in information from the calendar item. Then, when the reminder goes off or you open the item, you just click Join Now and it dials you in to the call. Very efficient.

Also, you can store your dial-in information so when you set up a conference call, you just click to add in dial-in information for the callers.

Hi @HofstraJet,

Alex from RIM here. Sounds like you’re making the most of the BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing app. I’m a big fan of the app myself, and I can’t wait to put version 2.0 to work. From what I’ve seen so far, having the ability to schedule a conference call from an email, in just a few clicks, and connect with my team in Waterloo for a quick brainstorm will make working from the road with my BlackBerry even easier.

We have a lot more info about this great app on our Inside BlackBerry for Business Blog. Here’s a link if you want to check it out: http://bbry.lv/rK2nNz.

Cheers,
Alex, RIM Social Media Team

Oh man, what a bummer it ain't available outside of the US and Canada. And why not make this the standard for every blackberry? Looks very useful to me!
