Friendly Reminder: The Waze Contest Goes until November 10th! Full Details Below!!

If you're already taking part in the Waze contest, keep collecting those Road Goodies! We have a lot of BlackBerry users participating in the contest already, but they're trailing behind Android and iPhone users slightly for total number of goodies collected (maybe BlackBerry users just have less free time! lol). You have until the 10th to getter done though, so keep going!

And if you haven't started participating yet, here's the deal. We've partnered with Waze to give away an iPad or an Android Galaxy Tab (obviously if this was happening later, we'd go BlackBerry PlayBook here, but it can't hurt to win a tablet of any kind, right?). Here's how it works:

  1. Download and install Waze from your mobile browser.
  2. Drive around with Waze and collect "Road Goodies" - which basically just means drive over the CrackBerry logos as you move about your city. As you can see above, they are *everywhere*.
  3. It's a competition between iPhone users, Android users, and BlackBerry users - which is to say you're up against the kids from TiPb and Android Central. Whichever site whose users collect the most Road Goodies will win and be able to give a tablet away to one of their users - selected randomly from amongst the top 25 collectors. Remember - you only get credit for driving over the CrackBerry icons.
  4. That's it! Use Waze, collect Road Goodies, and stick it to those iPhone and Android users while automatically getting a chance to win an iPad or Tab

What's Waze, then? It's a free social mapping tool: you can get directions, find out where the traffic is, ping other users, and generally find your way around while helping other Waze users get better location and traffic information. Check out the full details on the Waze Blog.

There doesn't seem to be as many Crackberry road goodies as all the others. Everywhere I turn there are android & iphone road goodies. The 1 time I drive over a crackberry road goodie it didn't even register!

I would love to give Waze a try, but when are they going to have a client for the Storm?

SCrid2000

:p there's only one in my town.

There are way fewer crackberry goodies than others. Even when there are crackberry goodies they seem to be much farther away from the main roads in my area. When they are close to the main roads they have been in parking lots. Haven't seen any iphone or android goodies in parking lots. What they hell, guess they don't want us to win.

Oh and has anyone else been getting points for getting any phones goodies? It seems I have been.

Too bad the app won't work on my storm2. No wonder crackberry is losing.

This app does not recognize the gps in OS 6 for 9530

This won't be much of a contest since the BB version is Beta AND it is only available for a limited number of devices. I'm on the road a lot but running a Storm 2 so I'm out of the contest. Should have had full availability for all devices to make this a fair contest.

I got a few around my area andthey don't regerate once you get them. I'm not wasting my gas and go out of my way for this.

I downloaded the app. but there are ZERO road goodies in my area. This contest must only be for those who live in large cities...Bummer!

I know that the current version is not yet configured for the touch BlackBerry. Anyway, I installed it on my
Storm2. The navigation works very well. I have it side by side with my Magellan and I cannot tell any difference on the map accuracy, response time and clarity.

All waze needs now is to work on my touch keys.

I would kill for a galaxy tablet!
