If you remember a few months back, we took a look at a new application for the BlackBerry PlayBook called ReadOnTouch Pro. Today, we’re going to take another quick look. ReadOnTouch Pro has been updated to version 3.0. The new version takes what you’ve loved about this application and amps it up.

New features in 3.0

  • Added preview mode! (Important: you should clear all local data via preferences and sync again)

  • Optimized sync process

Fixed in 3.0

  • Image download should now work properly

ReadOnTouch Pro allows you to take the best of the internet on the go. With the help of the online service called Pocket (from, users of this application will be able to bookmark articles while on their desktop or laptop and have them sent to their BlackBerry PlayBook. The application is definitely handy for those looking to keep up on tech blogs, but don’t always have an internet connection on their PlayBook, or the time to sit at a computer. ReadOnTouch Pro is available in BlackBerry App World for $1.99. I definitely recommend checking this app out. I’ve been using it for the past few months and wouldn’t go back.

ReadOnTouch Pro updated to version 3.0 - Brings along a new layout and faster sync

Nice! I use ReadOnTouch quite a bit, and while I updated it yesterday evening I hadn't had a chance to see what's new.

Sadly that's a screenshot from the old version and not the new preview mode I developed.

"Payment system is busy". Rebooted Playbook, still busy. Can't buy it.

Switched from Paypal to straight credit card. Then it worked.

Love the app! But......Pocket *still* have not fixed the issue of emailling links to Pocket from your Blackberry :( It comes up their end all scrambled. Funny, no other service has problems like this. Any chance you could also incorporate a second bookmarking service in the future, Sven? Like readibility or instapaper

(It is a problem for me, as I like to push links I see on Twitter on my phone through out the day to Pocket to read later)

Hi lavo96!

Sadly that's not allowed. Pockets explicit prohibits incorporation of other "read later" services. :(

Are you sure that emailing the links from you Blackberry did not work? What kind of Blackberry are you talking about? From the Playbook or from an mobile?
