Radio Shack now offering the BlackBerry PlayBook on sale for $299

Reports are in that Radio Shack is the latest retailer to reduce the price of the BlackBerry PlayBook. We got a tip that the price for the 16GB PlayBook is currently $479 with a $200 instant rebate until October 15th, though when I went to the site it is $479 with a $180 discount, bringing the cost down to $299 - which is still a smoking deal. Word has it that they will continue the deal after the 15th, but instead of instant savings the reduction will be in the form of a gift card. Thanks for sending this in Stephen!

RIM should have priced it like this since the beginning.

Agreed !!!! I'd have one, my brother would have one, my father would have one and my daughter would maybe have one.

Chapters-Indigo is offering all Playbooks with an instant $200 rebate until tomorrow.

Who spends 180.00 at Radio Shack? That doesn't qualify as a discount .

I would to ger my fiance a Playbook & use the gift card for a phone

El Platanero

is there any updated on the 64 gig getting a discount. I haven't seen it anywhere.

Abrante has it for $499

Their stores only carry the 16GB ($299) so I ordered my 32GB ($399) from their site. I received it the next day (literally).
