I'll wait until I hear what others say before redownloading it again

this version 4 is able to unlock your bb if password locked (put code into app) and do a phone boot and so far problem free

now this is a plus - that's why i never locked my 8310 cuz it wouldn't unlock to reboot the thing, might give it a go now and continue to lock my phone :)

Let's give this app a test drive. I was beginning to wonder if someone on their staff had fallen asleep at the keyboard!

I missed being able to use this program when I upgraded to 5.0. Downloading new version...

Pressing ALT+SHIFT+DELETE is much easier and you don't have to waste memory space.

can't find those keys on my Storm..
and anyone know which key schedules reboot?

On a 9530 dial ##000000 and type in "vzw" in the "SIP Password" blank. Menu->Save and the phone resets.

Great shortcut never heard before. Thanks for the tip!

Posted by sourkevin Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

Yay! I missed this from OS 4.6. Its so funny to watch this reset, agreed that the alt shift delete may be faster, but having it scheduled for me is really what I want. Thanks cb for the post!

I'm so glad they could finally release a version that will work with OS5.... Sure hope RIM doesn't go and upgrade the OS anytime soon ;)

Posted by psiclne Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

I dont see an update in Mobihand for the Pro version....

Posted by tsells Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

I just downloaded the free version and then entered my purchase code. (I think the only difference is "advertisements".)

Posted by InfojunkE Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

Is this going to be a free upgrade for the people that downloaded QuickPull Pro v3, because it was *supposed* to work with OS 5? Or are they going to charge us for an upgrade?

Posted by tsells Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

If you read the post, this is a quote:
QuickPull v4 has finally been released and is now available for free via their download page.

Posted by baykine Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

Is this 5.0 and Storm ready?

Posted by monkfromwes Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

QuickPull wasn't working up to it's potential with the new OS

it's = it is
its is for possession.

This just is not that hard to learn. You write for a living.

It's probably a flippin typo. "OMG HE FORGOT A F'ING APOSTROPHE. BIG FREAKIN' DEAL." There are worse things to worry about...get a life

lol life must be hard for you.

Posted by phreddyl Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

most of us read the posts for information not to grade someone's grammar. The sad few who troll the site looking for typos are pathetic.

Posted by Jonneh Wednesday, May 19, 2010 736 days ago

Quit.
You need to only correct the posts that are written without important commas and other mechanics which leave the sentences with the sad curse of being able to be read two different ways. Meanings get mixed and confusing then.

Something as small as "its" and "it's" doesn't give you a right to insult the writer. You're just a troll. Get a life.

I had it on my Tour and when made the switch the Curve 8530 was adisappointed it wasn't available. Now it is and I downloaded it and it is GREAT I used the keys to do the pull until the app was available and for me, the app saves time. I also have it scheduled daily.

You can't beat this app. I really like it

Posted by Legendary Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

Still not working on my 9700. Gets to the "resetting in 5 seconds" pop up and just sits there. All permissions set to Allowed.

Posted by tsells Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Did you do a battery pull after installing?
(Yeah, you have to do a battery pull after installing the battery pull app!!!)

Posted by Spoon3081 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 738 days ago

Its funny to watch it reset. The "fix" is pretty easy to notice.

Posted by rediroc Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Running Tour with leaked OS 5.0.0.643 and works like a charm, even with the password set. Uninstalled three or four leaks ago back in Feb. and have been waiting for a fix ever sense. Thank You Thank You Thank You.

I paid for the Pro version of this software and it didn't work on my 9630 with 5.0. I finally deleted it from my applications. When this showed up I tried it today. It doesn't work either. It starts the process and then hangs.
I do find it interesting that they would update the free version and leave the paying customers to hang in the wind. Of course since neither version works it really doesn't matter anyway.

Posted by lou61971 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Just installed and works great. Thanks Steelhorn

Posted by SpiritsFade Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

does this truly simulate a battery pull? i want my memory freed like a real battery pull does. does this do just that?

Posted by benthabits Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

I just downloaded this and my phone keeps restarting and can never get passed the loading screen.

Works perfect now on the Storm1 (and I needed this to work better since I have to reboot once/day at least ;( )

Posted by rudecat Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

This version still will not work on Bold 2 9700 on T Mobile. Installs but will not close down.............Nice try but...............delete, again!

Posted by dgburns Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Strange. Previous version 3.7.2 worked perfectly fine on both my Storm and my Tour with VZW official OS 5.0.

Alt Shift Delete may be fast but is only a soft boot. This is a full hardware reset just like a battery pull. No comparison really.

from my BlackBerry Storm...

Posted by whocancatchme Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

The 4.0 is on the appworld for free !! The pro version is still 3.9 though

Posted by CarFan Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

I'm using Nathanix's 5.0 hybrid on 8330. I can't set permissions on quickpull. It just sits there at the permissions setup screen. I deleted it. Back to manual pulls I guess :(

Posted by Nick.net Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

downloaded twice. failed every attempt to reboot. Errors galore. At least the old version worked, just with a million permissions errors.

I think I'm done. Lost all faith in this company. Is it seriously THAT hard of an app to develop? Retarded.

Posted by whocancatchme Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Lol you are retarded

Posted by mchopt Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

What is retarded is the fact that the need for this type of application exists.

Posted by b1gbleu Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Out of memory...can I load DOS on this?

Posted by whocancatchme Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

You have no idea how drunk i was i don't even remember to post this comments... Don't know why i came to see crackberry. Sorry !

Posted by The_Adventist Thursday, May 20, 2010 736 days ago

Just for the simple fact of having to take all of the armour plating off your phone before you can get to the battery is reason enough to have this app.

Posted by scalemaster34 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Application works fine on my STORM, glad to see them finally update it. But after installing and rebooting a few time, my memory is down almost 4MB from just before I download it...

Wonder if the paid version without advertisements is any better.

I give it a day or two, but if it cost that much application memory I can't afford it on my STORM.

Posted by MothersBoy Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

I downloaded it to my Curve and it doesn't seem to work. It asked for the registration code and I thought it was for free. Then it keeps telling there was an error. Very Frustrating.

Posted by johnnyBLAZE87 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

So, anyone tried this and upgraded? whats new? any problems? like you know one we had with the update on google maps

Posted by K_Daddy Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Waste of time. This was the last shot for that software.

Still does not work on bold 9000

Posted by psiclne Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

The Free version works on my 9700 running OS 5.0.0.593
Im still trying to get my pro version installed, looks like the activation code listed in Mobihand is not working for me.

Posted by Ebscer Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

less needed with OS5.0

Posted by Chef_Hutch Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Downloaded initially to upgrade from the previous free version. I expected it to replace the old version, but it did not and it did not work properly. So I deleted both the old and new versions, downloaded again, and rebooted. Works fine now. I went to their website and also noticed they had posted that you should delete your old version first before installing the new version.

Also you want to verify your QuickPull permissions. Make sure, too, that you disable compatibility (Options>Applications>QuickPull>MenuKey>Disable Compatibility.

Downloaded and still doesn't work for me, currently running OS 5.....

Still doesn't work with Bold 9000.

Posted by tsells Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

I can attest that it does work on Bold 9000 OS 5.0. Set permissions properly and do a battery pull.
You might want to re-install if it's still not working.

Posted by jsarasien Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Tried installing on both an 8530 and 9630. Both phones error out when trying to reboot. I was excited to have this feature back but it looks like Steelthorn didn't do their research.

Posted by Quasar3210 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

When you set your permissions follow the instructions in the quickpull app. When the list shows up all but the very first listing should show allow. Hit your blackberry key and click set as defaults. This fixed all the glitches with quickpull on my 9550. Works perfectly now.

Posted by tonysg Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

Installed but it didn't reboot as scheduled. App hung at the "phone will reboot in 5secs" window.

Also, is there a privacy statement for this? I don't feel safe entering my pin into quickpull w/o them giving some reassurance.

Uninstalled app, probably won't be back again.

Posted by delrahim69 Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

old quickpull didnt work and would say "your device is going to reboot in 5 seconds. Press escape to cancel" but never rebooted and when i clicked escape it said "something went wrong aborting, see device log for more details"

just downloaded new version for OS5.0 and still get same error

anyone else having this problem? im using 8350i

Posted by Furballz Tuesday, May 18, 2010 737 days ago

This ain't equivalent to a batt pull. FYI.

Posted by Ethrem Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

How is it not equivalent to a battery pull? It resets the device... albeit in a retarded way.

Posted by Ethrem Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Okay so I got it to work after lots of tinkering... But they couldn't think of a better way to do it than changing a module and then using cursor coordinates to press the button to restart automatically? I'd definitely never buy the program. Less of a hassle than pulling the battery out of the back.

Oh and I completely disagree with those that say a battery pull and alt+shift+del don't do the exact same thing. If I do an alt+shift+del and then follow it with a second one and hold it for 3 seconds, my device does a complete reboot and has the exact same free RAM and everything that a QuickPull or battery pull would give me.

Posted by NinjaChopstick Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

upgraded and it works. Kinda strange though. because basically the same thing happens, it gets stuck on the press to reset screen. but now, the cursor goes down on its own line by line, until it gets to the reset button and then pushes the button.

i guess thats one way to do it. glad it works though

Posted by digitalb0y Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Only took them 17 months to make it compatible? Color me impressed. I've just been over here this whole time, realizing how unaffected my life has been by the absence of QuickPull.

Posted by indiemand Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

this company and their apps are a total waste of time... im suprised crackberry havent done their homework on this one...

see link for problems with this app:
http://steelthorn.com/2010/04/quickpull-and-blackberry-os-versions-5.0.0...

this is a short extract from the link: An ugly bug in these OS versions prevent QuickPull from ever working, not upgrade above OS 5.0.0.400. The only known build above that to work with QuickPull is OS 5.0.0.711

now its a good job i checked this out, its never worked on my bold 9000 since day one using OS 4.6 and now OS 5.0.0.400+

never will i attempt to use any apps from steelhorn again! shockingly cr4p!

Posted by knuckles937 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Try using this version http://www.tinyurl.com/ykwgnkk, type this in you native browser and download. AFTER YOU INSTALL, YOU MUST DO A BATTERY PULL BEFORE YOU USE IT. I have been using this version on my sprint tour os 5.0.0.484 for a while now with now problem. Hope it works for everyone else.

Posted by tight_grip Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

this is complete crap

Posted by scouts36 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

I downloaded the new version.. which should be compatible with OS5, I´m running a Bold 9700 with .656. Stll does not work, when you install and run, it gives an error after trying to reset device...

Posted by mike22 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Still does not work right !

Posted by Big Dawg 23 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Here is a better solution make it easy to reboot a phone versus a battery pull. Even better fix the OS to stop memory leaks.

Posted by TimmyTwo2 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

Thanks Steelhorn! This works great! I could never get the beta 5.0 version to work on my 8330. This one works like a champ!

Posted by Firf Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

It works, it reboots, but it does have a message after every reboot that says, "Changes Have Been Successfully Applied", then another message that shows the details (basically that modules have been updated).

This is the same as before, except that this time it actually restarts. Unlike before, the device does continue to function normally.

Since it still is not working fully, I'm going with the majority and removing it until it works properly.

I would agree that their UAT is very poor at this point. It should still be considered a 'beta' product for 5.0+. Simply because a few copies work does not make it production worthy... (or we should all be compensated or given free full versions for taking the time to test the product for them)...

It's also a bit sad that RIM's OS simply was not developed in such a way that tools to overcome memory leaks and other resource inefficient applications can be resolved through native memory management. My girlfriend has an iPhone with probably hundreds of apps and frankly I'm not sure that other than flying on an airplane that she never turns it off. The phone always works, never gives her grief and with the exception of AT&T reception being terrible, it just continues to function normally.

RIM had better watch out when VZW picks up the iPhone... The window to get their act together is short....

Posted by crysis63 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

doesn't work for me either, the damn thing slows my phone down.

Posted by cwhitney24 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

So it works for 5.0 now!! But what happens when it turns to 6.0

Posted by belutz Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

It works fine on my 8900/5.0.0.681 and my 9700/5.0.0.656

Posted by GerIRL Wednesday, May 19, 2010 737 days ago

this new version works fine on my VZW Tour 9630 running 5.0.0.591 (Bundle 1059, Platform 4.2.0.284). My only gripe is that you get a "Reset Complete - press OK" screen when it's done. I would prefer no informational screen whatsoever, like in the previous versions. However, I still really like this app.

Posted by wwwdotanthony Wednesday, May 19, 2010 736 days ago

Will not let me set permissions. I push the button and nothing happens, so when I hit BB button there is nothing to save.

Posted by schunter1 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 736 days ago

I used this on my 8330 and worked fine. Upgraded to the 8350 with "hybrid" version 5.0.0.509 and no go. Downloaded twice and still hung up in the reboot stage...and yes..I did a battery pull after each install. Looks like I will still do the physical battery pull when needed. Glad it works for some.

Posted by kee Thursday, May 20, 2010 736 days ago

i have read every comment on here about quick pull i have installed it but it will not work i have tried every different way to get it to work as described in the comments NO LUCK WITH ANY OF THEM i have the paid version and i have installed it now 15 times i think it sucks.

phone 9520 storm---OS 5.580 unlocked and on o2 Sim

Works great on Storm 1, OS 5. I missed being able to set a scheduled reboot.

Posted by Matt J Thursday, May 20, 2010 736 days ago

Strange.... this software has always worked for my on my Bold 9000. I went from 4.6.0.303 to 5.0.0.681 (and many in between) and it always worked for all of them.

Posted by Peekaso Thursday, May 20, 2010 736 days ago

It stops at the rule change menu, right after accepting the EULA. I can't hit "next"

Posted by sehale Thursday, May 20, 2010 736 days ago

I spoke too soon - when locked, and password saved in the settings, it won't reboot. At the appointed time of the reboot, the password box pops up, my password is automatically entered, the screen flashes a few times, then fails. I have to manually enter my password and then the Quickpull message pops up saying the device will reboot in 5 seconds... Sort of defeats the purpose of a scheduled re-boot...

I haven't had one issue from downloading to using. So glad this was finally updated. Yes, I'm lazy...

I installed QP v4 on my Bold 9000 running OS55.0.0.610. Got it to work 100%, except it drained my battery something chronic (I could feel the phone generating heat)! 3 hours and a full charged battery would be flat. I have since deleted and battery life is back to normal. Seems to be working on my gf 8900 also running 610.
