Plants vs Zombies for the BlackBerry PlayBook
At the BlackBerry booth today we got a chance to check out another awesome game heading to the BlackBerry PlayBook. Plants vs. Zombies (or "P v Zed" as they call it in Waterloo) is a tower defense game that has been around for quite some time on other platforms. The premise of the game (as I found out today since I've never played it before) is to protect your house from the evil Zombies trying to take you down. You plant your seeds and grab some sun, then fire off as the Zomies head your way. All in all a great game that will keep you entertained for hours. Check out the video above to see it in action. It's due in BlackBerry App World any day now, so be on the lookout.

though i'm not particularly interested games, i'm rather excited about the trend which things are going. The addition of popular apps and games will definitely make the QNX based BBOS a viable option when people are consider switchin from other platforms.

I agree, and I'd like to see RIM add the major Instant Messaging Apps i.e. OoVoO, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Live Messenger, Google Talk. In addition, I mostly use work related or useful Apps some which I use and miss terribly are: PageOnce, WorldMate, SuperPages, Sharebuilder, a REAL voice guided Navigator, Fandango, Discount Calculator, Daily Horoscope, Amazon MP3, All the Major Book readers such as Nook, Amazon etc...

agree, agreed. especially a voice guided navigator. combination of bb maps and bb traffic + support for offline maps. something along the line of Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive would be brilliant.

Looks great! I've been playing a similar game called Vampire Hunter on the BlackBerry, so addictive. There is a free trial on App World: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/68137?lang=en

I play on the PS3 and it's fun there, but this game totally suits a touch interface. Might have to pick it up once available as well. Expect minimum of $5 is my guess.

Just like I did when Angry Birds launched, I will throw in my $5 to say thanks to the developer. To the rest of you stop being so cheap, a Starbucks costs $5 !! :-)

Just wanted to add - for those of you who are not looking forward to this one (I am) - buy it anyway! The developers are not going to keep putting quality things out for the PB unless what is out there gets bought - after all, they are in the business to make money!

yawn. It's better on the PS3. Trophy support.
TomCanuck Jan 11, 2012 at 2:53 pm
yes Kevin, that is a horrible overview of Plants Vs Zombies haha. That game is made entirely of win. I was heartbroken when the version from Android Market didn't work. This is great news :D

PvZ is probably my favourite iPod game. Great to see it come to PB! My guess is they'll jack the price to iPad pricing, which is a shame. There needs to be more $1-2 solid titles!

I'd love these guys forever if they make one for the mobile phone... :)
