Oops! If I wanted to run honeycomb I would spend $100 less and get the EeePad transformer, or $50 more and get it complete with keyboard/touchpad/extended battery. The playbook is just flat overpriced.

You pay more for a better and more polished OS.

I still don't know what that means :-( If the PlayBook will run Android apps - why have the BlackBerry App World?

The playbook will have the ability to run android apps, but NOT have the android marketplace. Developers will need to resubmit their android apps to Blackberry App World for them to be playbook-compatible

Good to know - thanks!

That isn't a very smart comment comment btw. Why would having a Android emulator imply the OS can't run its own software...

Because they have no agreement with Google to load the Android Market on the PlayBook.. If an Android Developer wants their app to run on the PlayBook it needs to be repackaged, and then placed in BlackBerry App World. For all intents and purposes it COULD run the Android Market but as it stands it won't be there.

I know that. My statement was just rhetorical as in you can't imply what he said.

The MD of RIM Australia and New Zealand is on record in a TV interview as saying it runs BBM too. You wonder where the confusion comes from?

I can't wait till I can run my Atari 2600 games on it.

Sadly, until the Playbook does support Honeycomb apps, I think the whole 'running Android apps' thing will be largely a gimmick. The Playbook needs tablet apps, not smartphone apps.

Shouldn't the advertisers need to know at least something about the products they are advertising? If my playbook all of a sudden looks like an android tablet, I would do the right thing and smash it. I bought the playbook to run QNX not some hack of an OS, like honeycomb or iOS. These OS are a weak substitute for the real multitasking rock solid experience you get with the playbook. If RIM wanted to run honeycomb it wouldn't have spent 200 million dollars it did buying QNX. This add was clearly made buy someone wanting to fan the fire of confusion. Adroid apps will come one at a time through the process of being adapted for the playbook and will be available as they come, through the blackberry app world.
