In a way it looks kinda like a child's toy. I guess it only having WiFi means its a budget model. But like anyone else, I'd rather be lining up for the 9700 or the Storm 2.

It's not meant to be a replacement for high end devices. It's more likely meant for the lower class/ teenagers who need the functionality of a blackberry for the price of a regular "dumb phone".

Why would anyone want a LG or Samsung slider phone when they can get this for the same price?

waiting for the Bold 9700. I won't be eligible for an upgrade so I'll have to pay full price but I'm sure it will be worth it.

You would be better off waiting for the next batch of devices in 2010 than pay full price for the Onyx. It has the same memory, screen, keyboard, and camera of the Tour. It has a trackpad and has both 3G and WiFi.

Why not wait till later in 2010 when the completely new devices will be out?

I dont mean any offense just curious?

I have a Bold now but even if I could upgrade I would wait for the next batch of devices. There is nothing the Onyx can do that my Bold can't. Sure it has more app memory, but it loses the 1 gb onboard device memory, has a smaller screen, smaller keyboard, and the speakers aren't as good.

What I mean is, the Onyx is nothing revolutionary over the Bold or even the curve 8900.

It has everything the same as the curve including almost the same size but it has 3G and uses the Tour keyboard.

But, it is your money and your decision.

Waaaaaa! I thought the 9700 was going to drop kick the 9000 out of the water but really the difference is in the optical pad/memory/camera. I can get all that and a bigger screen by holding out for the Storm 2. But why doesn't Rogers have the Storm 2 listed yet???? WAAAAAAAA!!!

Quick question.. Will Rogers ever get the 8350i? I am with Rogers, and really want the 8350i pretty much just for the ptt. If they arent going to get the 8350i, will rim be making any other blackberry's with ptt that'll be available through Rogers??
