He's a lovable chap is Pac-Man. I'm old enough to remember when he was first around and many, many, many years later he's still giving us some gaming pleasure. Luckily we can now do this on BlackBerry 10 smartphones rather than a 100 kilo machine like in the 'good old days'.
Anyway, that's enough about me. Pac-Man 256 comes to us from the same developer who created Crossy Road a short while back and what a little gem that was. Once again we now have a fantastic time wasting game for when you've some time on your hands and you fancy hitting up a game for a wee while. From experience, I don't expect you'll be spending hours continuously on Pac-Man 256, but it serves its purpose.
Much like the original version, you need to make sure you avoid the ghosts that will pursue you, as well as picking up power-ups along the way. The map is endless, so unlike traditional Pac-Man you can keep on heading upwards and upwards and upwards........
There's some nice color touches too as you'll see in the video. Every so often the maze changes color - not a big deal, but a nice touch. Overall a great job by the developer and an excellent modern twist added to a game that dates back to 1980!
Features include:
- Outsmart ghosts with over 15 ridiculous power ups: Laser, Tornado, Giant and much more
- Stay ahead of the super-villain lurking in PAC-MAN since the beginning: The Glitch
- Take on a new gang of revived retro-ghosts including Sue, Funky, and Spunky
- Waka waka on PAC-DOTS and string a 256 combo for a super special surprise
Feel free to give it a go if you fancy it and see what you think? If you've not got Snap on your BlackBerry you can find out how to side load it here but you can also grab Pac-Man 256 on the Amazon App Store.

CrackBerry Poll: Do you play games on your BlackBerry?
When it comes being able to play the latest and greatest mobile games, BlackBerry certainly doesn't have a great track record. With BlackBerry now on Android, though, I personally find myself trying out and playing more games than before.
Free from Amazon today
As the post title suggest, Amazon have offered Cut the Rope: Time Travel for free before. That was back in April this year, so if you missed the opportunity to download it then, you may want to take a look now? Although us BlackBerry 10 users can get our own fix of Cut the Rope in BlackBerry World, you won't find the Time Travel version there. For us it's Android or nothing and...
Skyward - Don't get it from BlackBerry World!
It's pretty unheard of that we steer people away from downloading an application/game from BlackBerry World, but in this case I thought that it was well worth doing exactly that. Let me explain..... Like many BlackBerry 10 users, one of my morning rituals is to jump into BlackBerry World and see what's new. And top of the 'New Arrivals' list was a game called Skyward. Although the...
Chimpact - Free today from Amazon!
What better way than to start the working week than an awesome free game from Amazon. Chimpact is the Amazon Appstore's free app of the day today and if you've been 'Team BlackBerry' for a few years it will probably ring a bell. Cast your mind back to 2012 and the good old trusty BlackBerry PlayBook. That's when and where Chimpact first made an appearance on CrackBerry and if you...
