OtterBox Defender for BlackBerry Pearl 8130

OtterBox cases are a BIG HIT with the BlackBerry Using and Abusing Population and for good reason... they can take a Beatin' and ensure your BlackBerry keeps on Tick'n. I'm happy to say we finally have the OtterBox Defender Series cases in stock for the BlackBerry Pearl 2 series - 8110, 8120, 8130. The case rings in at $49.95.

At CrackBerry.com, we've beat up and destroyed our fair share of these cases over the past year. If you haven't seen it before, I'd recommend checking out some of our past content:

  • OtterBox 8700 Review - OtterBox gets shot, driven over by a quad, teed off with a golf club, run over by a tractor
  • OtterBox 8100 Review - it gets tossed down a flight of stairs (video)
  • Best of WES 2007 - stupid birthday fun... 8700 in an OtterBox takes a HARD fall while out Go-Karting (video)
  • OtterBox 8800 Review - no destruction, but a good overview (video)... and a preview to the OtterBox vs. Hummer showdown
I just realized we're already over 3 months into 2008 and I haven't followed up recently with any new OtterBox destruction videos. And looking at my box-o-accessories beside my desk I do see that I have one of each OtterBox model handy along with the actual BlackBerry to accompany each. How can we top what's already been done?! Post your suggestions in the comments and let's have some FUN! Oh, and if you're looking to pick up an OtterBox for your BlackBerry, just click here

How about:
* Drving over an OtterBox with a tank or one of those exceptionally long trucks/road-trains?
* Sticking an OtterBox in a barbecue, an oven or a microwave?
* Dropping the OtterBox into a shark-infested aquarium for a few hours?
* Attaching an OtterBox to some meat, and feeding it to either sharks or pirahnas?
* Giving an OtterBox to the MythBusters guys to "test"?
* Crushing an OtterBox in the back of a garbage truck or in those compressor machines at the dump?
* Shooting the OtterBox with a nail gun?
* Blowing the OtterBox up with a landmine or similar explosive device?
* Politely asking en elephant to step on the OtterBox?
* Dropping the OtterBox from a helicopter at some ridicious height?
* Throwing the OtterBox off the top of a famous landmark, place or theme park ride?

Hopefully one of these solutions will help you "test" your OtterBox...

If you were at a military post, dropped your phone, in the otter box (of course), and a track vehicle (or 5 ton truck) ran it over, would it last?

The case leave an echo in your voice. I have contacted otterbox about the problem and they are aware of it. They recommended a couple of fixes that did not work. I purchased three of the units, 2 for BB curve & 1 for the iphone all with the same problem. Otterbox offered a refund for the cases. after all the recommended fixes there wasn't much left of the case. NOT RECOMMENED!!!!!

I love my blackberry curve and i love my otterbox.I have the all black. It comes with a magnetic holster and looks really cool on the hip. I am a construction professional and so I need to keep my device free from the harsh elements. Its the coolest and safest case around. I also keep my ipod touch in one.
One some occasions (like some sundays) i take my device out of the otterbox for a breather and carry it in the blackberry leather swivel holster case.
