OS Leaks For Storm, Tour And Bold Roundup!

The past two days have been heavy on OS leaks, we have seen Tour, Bold and Storm leaks all pop up everywhere on the net and the forums are full of people not entirely too sure what's going on so we decided to do a little bit of a OS round up for you all just to set a few things straight in the OS department here. First, these are NOT official OS builds and in such, you WILL find glitches, general weirdness within them but more on the disclaimer later--lets have a look at what popped up in the past few days.

Now all these OS leaks have raised many questions from many users, all of which can be addressed by looking in the CrackBerry forums for information on them. Be sure to check them out before you make any descisions on loading any of these OS releases and also note, some of the files you will indeed need to remove the RIM Internal Applications installation from your PC. Take some time, read through the forums for issues and fixes threads as well as mirror downloads and now, for the disclaimer.

*OS Disclaimer - These are unofficial releases. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. where is the leak for mac desktop manager? sooo tempted to use my virtual box of Windows 7 but that might be risky... anyone else with a mac wanna try it and let me know :)

My Tour is a little too new for me to step out on a limb for this... I'll be waiting for the official release this time. Thanks for the info though!

the os for the tour is pretty sweet. threaded sms is amazing and being able to vib and ring without any 3rd party app helps a lot!!! not to mention you can shrink pictures down to smaller sizes when using mms. just need to wait for apps to update for 5.0.....

i cant figure out how to install this on my tour.. i have followed all of the directions to a t, and it still wont install.. can someone offer some help?!?!?

In the past, I have found that if you turn your wireless internet connection off before you attempt to install, it will work. That may or may not be what you need to do, it's just something I've always forgotten to do and as soon as I do, it goes off without a hitch.

This update BRICKED my brand new tour. What a headache.. don't even risk it. Right now I'm going in circles trying to get my phone to even display something other than its black screen..

But be sure to read the Crackberry 101 article about resurrecting a nuked BlackBerry; just in case. It's easy to bring these things back from the dead.

i also have a brand new Tour that is now useless..... gotta fix it. I don't know what is worse? the fact that this happened, or that as soon as i fix it i want to try it again.
i need this black screen to go away.

I spent some time with .140, but missed Facebook. I loved not seeing "Error 552 Reload Software" after installing apps.

TOUR OS 5.0.0.191 not suitable for all bb tour..
yesterday I tried to installed in 5 tours....in fact only 2 tours are were able to be loaded.,,the rest unable to connect during multistage.....

I installed 5.0 on my 8900. It looks great but there are some bugs as you'd expect. When playing mp3s the player goes silent after playing the next song, you would need to pause and replay again to get sound. Also I was unable to download and use the app world and the facebook. Hopefully these apps will get fixed to work on OS 5.0.

Camera causes random reboots and meterberry doesn't work.

I been running v5.0 on my bold and its great!! Only thing is I don't have bbm (because I can't seem to find it or install it) and I can't install app world or the fb app. I can install google maps and my twitter apps just fine I also just installed slacker radio but I keep getting a 502 error for some reason... But the os itself is running really smooth!

the flicker scroll is pretty nice. the 3G icon appears on the top right. the player has some improvement, typing correction is pretty nice, and its pretty fast. but when I go to the camera the phone freezes and it restarts itself...

My camera does the same thing that is F**king lame ...there is always something. They are on a good path so far though.

I put it on my bold yesterday but took it off after having a look. No BBM5.0, so no OS 5.0 =p

it failed to connect during the multistage and now all i have is a black screen. this is not cool. this phone is like 4 days old. works great on my 8900, bold and storm though.

any help would be awesome.

the .191 doesnt work on my TELUS Tour. black screen ... the led is always red ........

i loaded 5.0 onto my storm yesterday...went smooth..everything was pretty cool except for the whole deal with not all programs working/being compatible. last night i put the phone on lock..wake up in the morning to my g/f callin me..i cant answer the phone because none of my buttons are working! batt pull..nada..wipe the handheld and load 4.7...nada..so i just got back from verizon with a new 9530...be careful...im stickin with 4.7 for now

I would rather wait for offical release from bell for my storm and it is only way that will work smoothly without any problems. I am using 4.7.148 and I do not have any problems since last May, when I bought for the first time.

I will not accept beta cuz it will cause problems like missing icons or whatever you have in your BB storm.

OS 5.0 beta should never post it in here at all and people here, should wait for official release. be patient and there is plenty of time to wait and do not worry about BB storm.

I have it on my storm. I love the OS but am going back to 4.7. No facebook BBM and camera causes the phone to reboot. RIM is onto something good.

Every time I push the camera button on the side it reboots my phone. that is the only thing that I have noticed

Benefits,

Threaded SMS/MSM is sexy
FLICK SCROLLING IS HERE
PHONE IS FASTER in switching between applications

On my 9530....

SMS is definitely hot. Flick scrolling is here and awesome

Also something i Just noticed... Google maps is way faster loading and finding my location...took up to a minute on 4.7 now its almost instant.

I Just upgraded from 4.7.0.151 to 5.0.0.191....

The things that are improved are fantastic.

As other people have posted the camera causes the device to reboot.

I'm sill playing with it. ill post again with more findings later... even with the camera issue I think im going to keep this OS.

its a good os design wise i mean wiith the new sms design and the new scroll it has but some apps dont work on it, and im asking anyone is ther a 5.0 aim for these new o.s ?

This has been the best os for me. It is sweet and slick. Facebook doestn work, but I can go online for that. BBM will work(4.7 not 5.0) and the camera doesnt work. If y ou can go a couple of days without the camera it is worth it. That is the only real downside!!!!! IT IS AWESOME!!!

I can't update the software for some reason. But like I followed the directions and I go to find the software and it would show up on the desktop manager for some reason.

Works great for the storm 9530 only thing is the camera it resets everytime!!!!!!!!!!!!! but has a bunch of new add on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New OS is awesome, a lot speedier and new SMS & MMS UI is great. Texting is now a lot easier with the auto corrections. Flick scrolling is what i've been wanting ever since i bought the phone. Yet AIM is not compatible so i'm stuck with the SMS way, and Camera and Video Recording is bugged so it'll just reset your phone. Great OS but flawed. RIM is on its way to making me a happy camper!

did the update for the tour it looks like it fixed the battery issue i have the 1600 mah battery and its only used 2 bars since 7 am this morn , with textinf, web phone calls. so hopefully this will be released on the officical release. just wanted to pass it on.

I DOWNLOAD ON TO MY STORM VERY NICE TO HANDEL SMS TEXT LOOK LIKE CHAT BOX BB IM HAS PICS NEW POP UP ON WORDS VERY EASY TO HANDLE ON THE SCREEN VERY SMOOTH BUT THEN CAMER OR VIDIO DID NOT WORK AND JUST KEP RESETING IT SELF ON AND OFF...BUT RIM IS ON THE RIGHT PATH..

I have read a lot of comments on the OS system having bugs with the blackberry face book and I too had the same problem until I opened it on my browser and then sign in, I closed out and then went back to app on blackberry storm and it loaded for me. "does any one know if there is going to be another patch for the beta fix on the camera issue, I am getting a black screen with options to select and once you do it robot's?"

Generally speaking, my storm hasn't ever been so fast and smooth. My only, but IMPORTANT, complaint is the fact that I cannot use my camera and video. The phone crashs every single time I try to use them; which results in the phone self-starting.

If these problems were not there, I would just love the way my Storm is currently.
