Another day, another BlackBerry OS announcement (and it's early in the day... we'll probably see another before the day is done!)... BlackBerry Storm 9500 owners can now get a hold of OS 4.7.0.122 from BlackBerry.com. The download has been made available to Hutchison customers, but is of course accessible by all. If you give it a go, be sure to report back your findings in the BlackBerry Storm OS forum.

i'm usually a fairly patient person when it comes to things like this but even i'm starting to get tired of waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and ... well you know.
the screen shot shows that this is an East Asia file download. Would it contain the English (U.S.) character set as well?
What is the deal with all the OS problems.

Please advise: This download is only for Storm 9500 users. It WILL NOT WORK on a 9530.

Verizon update has to hit today.... I will be checking this site more than I already do throughout the day today and that is already about 10 times a day. Not holding my breath but it would be nice.

I too got excited with the "and it's early in the day... we'll probably see another before the day is done!" quote, but through my Crackberry addiction I noticed over the past few days that CX has mentioned Telus as being in the process of some hardcore testing, so now I'm worried that this comment was directed at them and not Verizon. Here's to hoping my gut instinct is very wrong!

Is it my imagination, or is EVERY blackberry except the Verizon 9530 getting official updates lately? I believe this is the 2nd OS update for the 9500. I've seen a bunch of updates for the 8900 and for others as well. PLUS, Bell's 9530!
Where's the update for the Verizon Storm 9530???? Let's go, VZW--get with the program. From what I've read on various posts all over this site, people are fed up with the lack of a good OS for the Storm. We've been given projected dates for a new OS, only to see those dates come and go.
Good God Verizon, could you get any worse? I love the Storm and I'm not trying to be a hater, but at least with the iPhone you can get new things without having to read about them for two months.
Hopefully this is just a sign that the upgrade for the 9530 will be available soon, but this is getting ridiculous.
So hearing about iPhone OS 3.0 for months now with no release until way down the road isn't having to listen to all the new features without actually having it? Every OS for any phone/computer comes with months of waiting (even the iPhone).
Good point. But iPhone users haven't had to hear about iPhone users from every other country getting an upgrade. If everyone had to wait it would be a different story. We're annoyed, that's all. Some of us don't want to install leaked OS's because it violates the warranty and can screw up our phones, so we get a little annoyed. I know you must love your BB, as do I, but I would still like Verizon to get their stuff together.

Apart from all the 9530 users complaining about no updates for them has anybody downloaded and installed this to their 9500 yet ???? any thoughts or comments. Is there much differance than .113. Thanks

Sorry guys but I want to hear relevant 9500 comments on the .122 release and not how jealous 9530 users are. So please, stop with the complaints already.

I can't believe Verizon & RIM.... Its a dam disgrace what's going on! I mean I love my blackberry storm its an amazing phone, and by far the best smart phone I've ever had (had the pearl & old curve). But when it comes to the the new official OS's we the verizon customers should be getting it first, instead of some off brand cell company I've never heard of in my whole dam life..... I hope this OS were waiting for is GODLY, because its been one hell of a dam wait! And I pray to the man above that the "storm 2" doesn't come out in september because ill be furious!

im on bell and i got my os update yesterday and i still cant figure out what it does cause honestly i think it only slowed down my phone...wait...now i just realized that it fixed the accelerometer so now it works quite nice...other than that idk man....
Think the issue you 9530 guys have is that there is only Verizon you are relying on whereas 9500 users have carriers all over the world!
If I remember right, I think I've installed OS releases from Holland, Sweden, Eastern Europe and now East Asia! If I were to rely on an official release from Vodafone UK then I would still be on an ancient OS too.
then how does that explain the update for Bell? They're CDMA.

just installed today the update
great one actually, whenever u 9530s are gona have your own, ur gona cry!
fast, finally can use the 'home' or 'blackberry' button for its intended use, that is go to the menu and not background apps... so it is finally working fine
camera responds just fine too
but the best improvement i can notice till now is the battery life, ive been using texts, calls, mails, lil of intenet and gps for about half an hour and i'm still at 65% of battery!
all those updates finally have a purpose and i hope an end...
enjoy when it comes out fellas and till then keep on fucking up iPhones !

I hope that VZW reads these pages. I ahve been told by 6 different CSR's 6 different answers on when we will get an official OS update for the Storm. I am fed up. I pay too much money each month and each year to be LIED to. This is a multi- billion dollar company that can not get their shit together enough to give out the correct info to its own clients! I have been with VZW since they were Bell Atlantic Mobile and this is the end of the line.
I wish there was somewhere else I could go to satisfy this addiction. I'd leave verizon if I could REALLY get better signal/service from another provider, but they've been so good at charging me way to much for so long, I just can't bring myself to leave. maybe we can start a verizon "battered wireless user" clinic or something. I just updated to .113 and things are better, but i've got some issues. I just can't believe how much we pay for this stuff and still seem to be the last ones to get the cool new updates/gadgets.
ok, I'm done. I seriously do like my storm, by the way.
What is the latest software for Verizon - I'm still running 4.7.0.75 which as I told the guy from Verizon I spoke to earlier "is a sucky operating system" - Does anyone have any insider scoop as to when Verizon will be releasing an update?

Do not believe a word any Verizon CSR tells you or your wife. They do not know anything about any updates and if they do they are not telling anyone anything!
