The Wall Street Journal just confirmed that BlackBerry didn't get phones to the US carriers until a couple of weeks ago, which is the cause of the unbelievable delay. Looks like "business as usual" for BlackBerry. They only had a year and a half to get this right... What a MAJOR blunder!

You are just spewing nonsense. Both RIM and the carriers confirmed the receipt of the phones in early October. Or was that just some big conspiracy. Final hardware was likely received a couple of weeks ago in accordance with inventory control procedures. I suspect they are holding back in the US market to build up their advertising. It's going to take a bit more than a launch in New York City to sway Americans back to blackberry. Sort of a Duh if you ask me.

Sorry, while this might be possible, I find it hard to believe. BlackBerry reported in the fall that US carriers had received devices for their test labs.

Maybe they just "stretched the truth" a little. And it doesn't take that long to test. It would've already been over 3 months. Testing takes a max. of 6 to 8 weeks, which is right in line with this scenario.

If we go back to what blackberry said in the past that availability will first be in UK before US it is still in line with that plan

Guys, dont blame BlackBerry for this. The reason US carriers offer later because of their very strict and long testing procedure, this is not the case with other carriers. You should blame carriers not BB. I suggest to read the thread that was posted some time ago here in crackberry (by Umi if I'm not wrong). Lab testing was explained very good there.
