Opera Mini 4.1

Opera Mini has gone to version 4.1. The new version includes many updates, and allows you to stay in touch with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and even do online e-mail and banking. It's a quick and secure option for browsing the web on your BlackBerry.

To download Opera Mini 4.1, simply hit up operamini.com on your Berry's browser, or to go direct to the download page visit http://www.operamini.com/download/wap/blackberry/ and select your BlackBerry device.

Also, after you download Opera Mini make sure you download Opera 9.5 beta for your computer as well. This will synch your bookmarks.

Is the OperaMini website not loading for anyone else on their BB? I'm sure it's getting slammed, I just want to make sure I'm not the only one.

You likely have the BETA of 4.1. This is now the Full Release version.

Kevin,
What kind of improvement that I could expect upgrading from Beta version?

I am abit hesitant to uprade since I don't want to lose all my bookmarks again. like when I upgraded from 4.0 to beta 4.1

Thanks

This link will give the answer to your question (and everyone else) about the improvements made to the final version of Opera Mini.

I've made the "upgrade" without a hitch on my T-Mo Curve but yeah, it stinks to lose your bookmarks. That's why from now on I will be syncing them with the Opera browser on my computer that I just downloaded yesterday.

The full version of opera mini 4.1 is not supported by Verizon. As to what the operamini website says. Anyone still have the link to the Beta version that is not linking to their site?

Reread the statement about Verizon customers:

"The service is not available to Verizon Wireless subscribers (other than BlackBerry users) yet."

BlackBerry users on Verizon are able to use Opera Mini.

Reading all the comment above,
now I am a bit hesitant to upgrade.
I have the Beta version that work perfectly as of now,

Any reason why I should upgrade?

Cons:
I will lose all my bookmarks ( that already happened when I uprgrade from ver 4.0 to ver4.1 Beta)

It's a little more work but if you get the latest Opera browser setup on your home computer, then you'll never have to worry about losing your bookmarks on your phone again.

Here's what they say about this feature:

"Sync bookmarks and Speed Dial
Opera Mini 4.1 features Opera Link, which allows you to synchronize your bookmarks and Speed Dial with a computer running Opera 9.50 or other mobile device running Opera Mini 4.

To use Opera Link with Opera Mini, simply choose “Synchronize Opera” from within Opera Mini and enter your current My Opera login details (or register a free My Opera account) to synchronize your bookmarks between your phone and your computer. Access and edit the bookmarks from any other browser by going to the Opera Link page."

This is what I'm gonna try and do. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

Cannot get this to work with my curve. I have Centennial wireless which is a regional network in the Michigan area. Maybe that is why it won't work. Would appreciate some help or at least some answers why it won't work.

Anyone using this on their new Curve? Is it compatible? I've come across too many 3rd party apps not working with the 8330 so assuming Opera too.

Can someone please tell me how to get this on my curve? It will not download at opera or download.com, for that matter. I'm about ready to throw this phone across the room.
