I just downloaded to try and when ever I click on the Blackberry Menu button, the menu just keeps on flickering and I cant choose anything.

Running 4.5 on Verizon. Anyone else experiencing this?

Are you using a BB Dimensions theme or 3rd party theme you downloaded? When I had Opera Mini, the same thing would happen when I used a theme other than any of the BB Dimension themes pre-installed on my Pearl (usually one with transparent menus). I have OS 4.3. If that is your case, try switching to one of the BB Dimension themes (i.e. BB Dimensions Zen) to see if that makes any difference.

Anyone with a Bold who doesn't download this because they think the Bold's browser is good enough is fooling themselves. Even on pages containing javascript this thing flys. This has now become my default browser, the blackberry browser is just too painful to use, even on the latest 4.6 releases.

Well I just downloaded this, and man it is nice! I compared startup speed on my curve with my girlfriend's curve running BB internet and it loads up in about 1/4 the time. Loading pages seems a lot faster on some pages, but not so much on others. I'll try it for awhile and see if I keep it!
but with RIM's new and improved web browser the need for Opera Mini has really diminished (IMHO).
RIMS new and improved browser still lacks severely compared to Opera even Crackberry.com doesnt view as good as it does in opera. In fact because i was at work i finally after months had to fire up the blackberry web browser just to do the OTA install of the new Opera.

so while ones preference in browsers can be boiled down to opinion, the fact is opera is a better browser than the BB browser, and i dont think Opera should be passed over as a valued software addition for our BB's, especially since we are lucky enough to have them developing it and distributing it for free.

cheers

Ok, it downloaded fine from mini.opera.com/beta, but when I click on the Opera Mini icon from the home screen, it begins to install but then I get a bunch of the following messages that I need to click OK to, then it fails at the end.

Here's the message I keep getting:
The application operette$2dhifi$2d4$2e2beta has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.

Opera runs about 1200 times smoother than that of the BlackBerry one.

The only question, how do I set it as my default browser?!?!
