Japan's NTT DoCoMo has officially released OS for the BlackBerry Bold 9900. While this is an official release, remember to use caution when updating your device. If you need help along the way, you can head into our help forums or check out some of our BlackBerry 101 articles including How to Install or Upgrade to a new OS. If you do install this OS, hit up the forums thread below for findings, fixes and more discussion.

That would be like installing it in your Commodore Vic 20. It won't work.

Everybody, be aware that with upgrading your OS you might lose the functionality of your Gmail-App!

Any update on the rumor that BlackBerry is quitting the Japanese market?

Okay, so I will install this.
Then I will install hybrid.

Weekend, here I come!

Hi- I apologize for an elementary question. I just bought a new unlocked 9900 (English language is default) and would like to use Japanese input. I was wondering if I install this ROM, it will contain the Japanese language input, or if that's a different ROM/install? If you would be able to help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've got a question. If I download a BlackBerry Bold 9900 ROM, can I take any carrier ROM I want or does it have to be the one my phone belongs to? Seems to make sense to take a carrier free one (stock firmware) but I can't seem to find any, like I can for Android devices...
