Official OS for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 from Verizon

Adam I know no one really cares for us 9850 users :( . LOL!!! Nevertheless it's also available for 9850 and 9370 users ass well. Just thought I'd point that out if it hasn't been already.

I agree, I do not usually hear much about the Torch 9850, while my wife uses the 9930 and is very happy, I am very satisfied with the 9850 performance. I believe in many ways it is understated. It may not be BlackBerry 10, but in meetings I have out performed both Androids and Iphone, with emailing and obtaining information and using other funtions. Anyway here is a the Verizon site which speaks to the software upgrade, hope is use useful:

is the update process going to be like this for the bb10 platform, being released for phones with a specific carrier or will it go the route of the iphone and offer an update for everyone as soon as it becomes available?

There is an update .755 for the Torch 9850 available from Verizon, but that is close but no cigar for you 9860 users. The update is probably out there and will show up real soon.

I downloaded earlier today but honestly haven't noticed any significant changes but as the prioity was low I guess there shouldn't be any major differences. I do hope battery life has been improved, here's to hoping!

Have not noticed any differences yet. Battery life was greatly improved by the last update, so I am not sure this can improve it much more.

Installed it at work, so far it's running like the last "offical" update. I'll be stuck with this phone for a while so I hope verizon keeps us up to date.

Surprised to see VZW releasing another 9930 update. I thought I read somewhere that the previous release (.580?) was gonna be the last one. Outside of Battery Life, which was decent (tested during Sandy, full usage), I'm not sure what else they could improve/fix.

Their updates are not always positive. One of the last updates disabled wifi hot spot. They would/could not enable even with switching to the share everything plan. A sneaky way to get us to switch. Use a Tether program or be ready to pay more for service for a Verizon Jetpack or 4G LTE phone. Got me looking at the Windows phone though, looks pretty nice.

This update also showed up on my Verizon 9850 yesterday. While I didn't notice any major visual changes, I have noticed one much needed fix. I've had 3 9850's (on my third due to warranty exchanges) and have noticed a bad memory leak ever since the first release of OS 7.1. From what I have been seeing in all of my tests over the past day is that the memory leak is gone! :) My storage space stays in the 90 MB range no matter how many apps I have running. And because of this everything just seems smoother as the OS isn't constantly eating at memory anymore. I'm falling in love with my 9850 all over again!

I wanna say I'm imagining things, but my wifi performance seems way better than the last Sprint release. And I think my double key punch problem is gone too

I had the same problem and decided to tether my BB to the PC and execute the update OTA(so to speak) from my BB. (OTA disconnected was failing for some reason)
