First..! Downloading.....
thatMikeguy Oct 24, 2012 at 1:05 pm
I downloaded this as well but it is 7.1.0.912 not 746 as listed. At least that is what it told me. I haven't actually completed the install yet.
npatrin Oct 24, 2012 at 1:24 pm
Make sure you downloaded the second one...
adamschuetze Oct 24, 2012 at 6:59 pm
Don't confuse package version with applications version.
The first download:
BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.1.0.921 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 7.1.0.921
Consisting of:
Applications: 7.1.0.267
Software Platform: 5.1.0.230
File name: 9900M_PBr7.1.0_rel921_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.267_UTS.exe
File size: 241.25MB
The second download:
BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.1.0.2108 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 7.1.0.2108
Consisting of:
Applications: 7.1.0.746
Software Platform: 5.1.0.546
File name: 9900M_PBr7.1.0_rel2108_PL5.1.0.546_A7.1.0.746_UTS.exe
File size: 260.22MB
You want the second download, Applications version 7.1.0.746.

I noticed that BlackBerry Protect doesn't complete setup. Damn, I hope this is not an OS issue.
adamschuetze Oct 24, 2012 at 11:22 pm
I just finished installing and setting up Protect, it worked fine. I don't know why it didn't work for you. I have had issues with Protect one time before, several OS updates back. I deleted the app, did a battery pull, and then when I re-installed it, it worked just fine.

AT&T blackberry bold 9900 dead mic issue does it exist on this release?
Rootbrian Oct 26, 2012 at 5:38 am
OS versions have no affect on an at&t only issue. If it drives you up the wall and they won't fix it, switch carriers and be done with it.

It's asking for a keycode now. Any suggestions?
sonic7777 Oct 26, 2012 at 1:18 pm
I am thinking I should have deleted the vedor file first. Problem was I coulndt fin it. Wasn't located
Where it said looked in the program files and no vendor file. So I reverted the update to 1646 until I can confirm this will work.
raven6870 Oct 27, 2012 at 8:05 pm
A second vendor.xml file hidden, got to do a search for it, I'd tell u where but I didn't really pay enough attention when I searched and deleted it lol sorry

Can I install this version on an unlocked device purchased from RIM?
I am on the Rogers network at the moment
royfakhry Oct 29, 2012 at 6:59 am
I downloaded it but I have been having trouble recently with making the desktop manager detect the newer version of the O.S.
I am on t-mobile official version and haven't been able to go up any other versions. I deleted all OS on my PC and still can't make the new software detection. I deleted all vendor files as well, and I even tried to install it through apploader.exe but it wasn't picked up.
Can anyone please recommend a solution to this, I would appreciate it
