Each time.....each OS upgrade for the 9900....it stings.....9930 love? Anywhere?
Anatomy Nov 17, 2011 at 7:53 am
I installed the leak for this one. It is great! Everything is smooth and battery life is noticibly improved. I will be hanging on to this one for a while. 9930 is coming soon I'm sure!
npunk42 Nov 17, 2011 at 8:17 am
The 9930 is too good already without constant updates :)

Anyone else waiting for the T-Mobile update and throws a fit everytime some other carrior gets an update out . . .
pjkarasek Nov 17, 2011 at 9:53 am
I'm on TMO & I just installed the official 503 from A1. It's working like a charm for me.
decypher44 Nov 17, 2011 at 8:29 am
Also looking for 9930 love! What's the deal? Why all these updates for 9900 and pretty much nada for the '30?
tgjb Nov 17, 2011 at 9:01 am
Because in the world only few providers are using CDMA. Whereas GSM is everywhere!

Why are Rogers so useless at keeping up with the updates? :/
ps4rh Nov 17, 2011 at 9:33 am
Because they don't particularly need to spend the money on updates in order to compete.
It's the same reason Bell and Telus do the same.
BENZ_O Nov 17, 2011 at 9:31 am
I installed the leaked version and it's very good. Seems a lot more snappier and quicker all round. Also the battery is much improved.
P.s... Tired of waiting for Telus for updates. I wish these updates came OTA instead of these stupid carriers.

you don't need an update from Telus, in fact canadian carriers are very slow in releasing updates or they don't.
Just delete the Vendor.xml and you are good to go.
I am on Telus too, but i never use their updates

I can't have enough praise for the .503 version, battery life is SO much more improved!

The UI is much smoother but I am beginning to realize this phone is a dud in spite of the great looks and fantastic keypad.
I have always had 5 bars with ATT. I still get 5 bars with the 9900. 4G+5 bars and I can't watch a youtube video without buffering.
It's going on 2012 and this is supposed to be the best phone RIM makes and I can't even watch a 2 minute YouTube video without the phone stopping 3 or 4 times to drop a few friends off at the lake. .440, .474, .503, .540, it makes no difference. Sure you get a few bug fixes but does the phone "Really get USABLE"??? Or do I just sit and wait for some morons over at RIM to "Finish My Product" that I pay for each month?
WTH

I get your pain but I don't get the same problems. Why would that be? I find the phone a marvel and I am so glad that I bought it over other ones. I don't understand why other users don't get the same experience.
starman011 Dec 14, 2011 at 3:20 am
I agree with you 100%. I foolishly wasted my upgrade on this phone and truly truly regret it. This phone is worthless...no kindle, no audible, not even the FULL version of amazonMP3, no espn, cnn..and non of them care. A collection of the most useless apps on the planet. As a bonus I'm terrified everytime my phone get too low on battery because that seems like a link to the infamous "bricking" problem. Don't get me started on the lack of wifi calling and mobile hotspot. This phone is a joke.
Bottom line...if you not a BES customer forced to use this garbage phone for a high paying job...get an android or iphone...even windows phone is better.

ok, so I may be a bit behind in the times.....why do I keep downloading an .rar file? I get that from the megu download...the rim download keeps giving me errors when the wizard starts up.....
aaast36 Nov 17, 2011 at 8:49 pm
ooh I got it! Someone must have thought the answer......thanks!
