Any idea what it's got in it's pockets?

Thanks. I thought I was going to have to buy a new Blackberry altogether. http://www.geekchoice.com

Finally! I thought I was banished to the isle of obsolete phones and forgotten.

What is new about this update other than aggravating me for a while because of my emails. I still have yet to find what difference this brought. Please, if anyone knows let me know.

I've had this installed via OTA official channels since last Friday. Crackberry is slackin' a bit. :) J/K You guys rock.

Sprint is still @ 6.0.706. BOOOOO

Got the update last monday.

This must be what all the BB myopians have been on about. Is this the work of their savior Thors Heinze. I applied this update and it took nearly 40 minutes. Here's what's in the update.

Browser still sucks.
Still no one I know is on the fabled BBM.
Everything has to re-install at launch.
Camera still really sucks. Camera is disposable point and shoot bad with a loud click of Canadian paranoia.
RIM Fanboys will still say, "oh yeah, well it messages the best!".
Data plan still what is wa$ despite getting NO real value for it out of this device.
Apps still suck.
Still was a "Flagship" only two years ago.
IT pros at my company (U.S. Government) are still winning innovation awards for porting CAC to iPhones.

Will still be getting an iPhone in less than 2 weeks when my contract is up.

That is what is in this update.

RollingRock loves his BlackBerry. He's not an iSheep. He's unique and loves to pay full price for data plan to BBM.

Not Impressed. Such a grownup and intelligible response from someone who works for the US Government.
He's absolutely right everybody! It makes sense to EVERYBODY including the government to carry a phone that's almost entirely made of glass! A phone that you cannot put a new battery into without risk of damaging the thing unless you're mighty skilled at it. It makes even MORE sense to not have access to your own filesystem without modifying the phone's firmware, and what's wrong with you BlackBerry people, you know how awful it is to be able to copy data onto and off your phone WITHOUT a special client like iTunes, and not have to have a proprietary cable to plug in with.

Yes, iPhone is where it's at and thank you for setting us all straight. I'm sure coming to a site to insult everyone makes a lot of real sense, wish I knew why you are here to begin with.

I only hope it doesn't interfere with your government duties, like playing Xbox and peeing on the walls of Walmarts :)

I got the Bold 9650 so that I could support users at a Fortune 500 Enterprise and know more about the phone than the "simulators" they provide to walk users through procedures could detail.
I joined Crackberry to see if there was just something I was missing about the "Flagship" phone; for tips, tricks, etc. What I found was a circle jerk of myopians chanting about physical keyboards and messaging. But looking very closely at the forums on the crackberry, I confirmed that the browser sucks. If the browser sucks, I am not getting my full value for the cost of the data plan. Then I thought maybe there was a setting I missed about the camera. No, the Flagship Bold 9650 has a camera only slightly better than that of a pinhole camera. Everything has to be an app and there are very few of those worth anything. Then large companies learned what I did. There are alternatives to Blackberry.

Now I read Crackberry for a priceless lesson in how a business will fail after leading an industry for many years. Nokia and RIM are very close to becoming telecommunications footnotes.

But at least they'll have physical keyboards and great messaging.

I assume you know that the Flagship BlackBerry is the 9900/9930, NOT the 9650.

Great. This update wont let me verify my email passwords. Looks like I'll be downgrading. I spend the big bucks for a flagship phone, its obsolete in 6 months and now I cant even keep the newest OS.

addyetude

Have you had any luck with verifying your email password?

laxcrespo1013

Webgirl
Has anyone figured out how to setup their emails...looks like I'll have to download, grrrr!

beebo86

The only way I found is to search for blackberry internet service verizon (or whichever service you have) and login using the login and password you have...then change the password and logout.
You will be able to login using your phone now with the new password.
Hope this helps

Well with no success, I downgraded the upgrade and guess what......my BB Bold 9650 froze up. Took it into the Verizon store and they said it was a goner..but thanks to 18 months of paying for insurance I'm getting a replacement without paying a deductible.
No more upgrades for me....

While doing a DM backup and sync the other day, I saw the message come up about the update that is pending. Typically, I would be pretty quick to follow through and then endure the pain of reloading passwords, apps etc.

I have gone through unofficial releases, reinstalled my OS on a number of occasions, registered and use BBSAK, etc. So you would think that I was ready to jump in with both feet.

Not this time around. Not after reading all of the negative info that I am seeing about the inability to gain access to email (I have multiple accounts and my business relies on them).

So I have a simple question. How do I remove this icon that BB/Verizon was kind enough to place on my phone to remind me that there are "Software Updates".

Further, does anyone know if BB/Verizon will be mitigating the mess that they seem to be creating with the email situation?

I think that I will just wait at the water's edge and be happy in my bundle boat 2333 until I hear a whistle blow that it is all clear to jump into the update waters again.

laxcrespo1013

I went to the Verizon Store today to see if they can "fix" the email issuse. 40 min later no luck. Than they finally check there system alert and they saw that there is an issue with the new OS update and they are "hoping" to have it fixed by 2/10. I guess we will see, I still have no emails on my bb. SMH

Benny Kekana

can someone help me with a 6.0 OS ROM that is generic not attached with Sprint, or Verizon.
