Happy Friday to all the BlackBerry Curve 9300 users. Vodafone Essar Limited (that's a mouthful) has released OS 6.0.0.706 today. It's ready to roll for the weekend and looks to be a good one. We haven't seen a Curve 9300 update in a while, so if you've been itching to get a new one then give this a go. Be sure to swing by the forums and let us know what you find. As always, use caution when updating your OS.

people are you sure this version is OS 6.0.0.706 because in that picture it says: package version 6.0.0.3049. i do not get it, please someone help me, thanks

you don't look at the package version, you look at the application version, which stands correct at 6.0.0.706

I have said in my previous post, i will post back what i think this release is like.

Thumbs up btw, I have successfully upgraded my friends BB Curve 9300 3G and it is stable and performs well.

Once in a while (random, once every 1-3 weeks) the home screen will go berserk and suck the battery dry. This is while using a standard background and on BES, no funky apps running, actually, no apps at all running, just BBM and Browser really.

Annoying but otherwise quite solid, OS 6 .723 came out for the 9700, let's hope for a follow up on this soon!
