Since most BlackBerry Bold 9650's came with OS 5.0.0.621 preloaded, I guess RIM and Sprint were feeling nice and decided to roll out an update for that OS rather quickly. You can now download the official OS 5.0.0.699 directly from the Sprint BlackBerry download page. No folks, it's not a leak this is official.
I wonder what the changes are?
i hope that this will resolve my signal issues, but i really doubt it.
Shaky Sprint got the phone out AND an update already...
Sprint's always one of the 1st companies to roll out updates.........I think they found a small error and got the undate out quickly to fix it

FYI - Sprint has released this update for the Curve 8530 and I upgraded my device last night.
Just got my Bold yesterday, upgraded to .692 this morning, and will upgrade to .699 tonight, at least I've become proficient at wiping the phone, and installing a new OS.
Unreal, not only has sprint released already now a software update as well. $!#% #&% verizon
I'm STILL waiting on a 9000 update from AT&T.
Do yourself a favor and upgrade to a Bold 9700. An official OS 5.0 is NEVER coming to the AT&T Bold 9000

Download the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac. If you have a Sprint 9650 (which you should given that it's only available on Sprint at this point), the Desktop Manager for Mac should be able to download and perform the upgrade for you.
my desktop manager says that there is not update so when i try to do it manually there is no support on how to do it and for a mac in the forums it looks like you cant unless the desktop manager recognizes that there is a upgrade
I'm getting my Bold 9650 today and I get to update the OS already. Good news.
I get about 200 of these yesterday that came with .621 and now .699 is out...great..just great

I'm doing the wireless update right now. It's 17mb, which seems kind of big to me. Is this a normal size for an update?
308_nut got the Bold with .699 fresh out of the box. so it seems the batches are shipped with the new OS. This may the reason the upgrade is here so fast. Maybe I'm wrong just a thought.
The only difference I notice is that my battery lasts a lot longer than it used to.
Why is the device PLATFORM not also 5.0 like the Bold 9700? Is this BB secretly inferior?
