Official OS 5.0.0.621 Now Available for the BlackBerry Bold 9650 from Sprint
*Update: It looks like order has been restored and the OS and device are both listed correctly. The download now shows Bold 9650 and not Tour 9650. You're welcome Sprint :-) *
Here's one that was pretty unexpected. It looks like Sprint has released an official OS for the Bold 9650 through the BlackBerry Software Downloads page. The device is slated to drop in just over a week, so its not shocking that this OS has popped up. What is odd however is that Sprint has titled it Tour 9650, not Bold 9650 - proving even carriers are confused by the rebranding. We can safely assume this will be the software that ships on the device, but if you're looking to get a jump on your Bold 9650 prep you can download it now from the link below. Thanks to Blair for sending this in!

this phone continues to have problems.
first they release the tour due to pressure from the carriers, the phone comes out with a bunch of issues.
they attempt to release an update of the phone, can it last minute to make some semi-important updates aside from the track pad and wifi.
they rename it a bold to ditch the tour name and all the problems associated with it
and now the carrier is calling it a tour again....
rim is really on a roll with this phone

The download link appears to be broken....

Besides the Storm the Tour has to be the worst Blackberry EVER with all the issues! I figured they would ditch the Tour name because who would want ANOTHER crappy blackberry!

The Tour is not the worst far from it. Most tours these days run pretty smoothly and solid

Verizon REALLY needs to let its customer know bout this phone and say when its gonna drop for them....they are really starting to annoy the heck outta me! C'mon Big Red....some of us business people would like to know bout this...not everyone wants a damn Incredible!!!!
codemaker May 13, 2010 at 2:13 pm
"What?!! You don't want an Incredible? That's incredible. Maybe a droid then perhaps? No? Ok, how about a Kin? We have two to choose from. No? Wait here, I'll go get my manager." Ok, enough of that I think you get the point :) I can't blame you though, I will be at my local sprint store on May 23, ready to fulfill my destiny. Ahh, what a glorious day it shall be.

And I've been running 5.0.0.643 on my Tour 9630 for a month now wow sprint you are so behind and I guess its just sheer corporate laziness. I'm sure the system will always by just as shitty

So the story is that while Sprint has set an official release date and an update on the OS, Verizon is still playing like nothing is going on? Very nice!!

The Tour takes a big shiny CR$% on the Bold! Some Pinhead at RIM Decided that the TOUR was to much power!!!! The CR$$ppy BOld is can stay with that worthless AT&T service. Take the TOur BABy with all natural freaky steriod driven Blackberry! THe Bold and the Iphone should merge and become The Bone!Booonnnne!!! Damn, I lost another one to the Tour!
mex876 May 13, 2010 at 8:06 pm
I trully think that RIM is run by closet AT&T Execs. Who in sprint even heard of a Bold Blackberry? I didn't see one survey other than the awesome selling power of the Tour 9630 despite not having a Wifi. This doesnt make sense that the 9650 would be renamed Bold. Sprint is the last major carrier to offer Wifi feature on their Blackberries. Day one AT&T BB's offered Wifi feature! SPrint Customers are on to RIM(I mean the RIM Division of AT&T)!!!! A word of Advice SPrint is bigger and better than AT&T. I got two words not Suck it! that what RIM is telling Sprint Customers. AT&T Bankruptcy! Its happen once and it will happen again!

Will this phone ever drop onto Bell Carriers... I'd love to trade up for a 9650 insted of my 9630. My tour has been good to me thus far.. But I like the idea of some wifi and that sexy little trackpad.. He he

Cancel Contract Pay porated FEE and WAMO New 9650 at new customer pricing!!!! ITs much cheaper than paying out the nose for new 9650.

omz69 May 14, 2010 at 11:21 pm
If it has 3g wifi and the new trackpad then its a BOLD! This is basically the bold 9700 with 512 mb of memory and openGL 3D graphics. Viva la BOLD!!!
crackbaby27 May 15, 2010 at 11:50 am

mi_canuck May 19, 2010 at 1:48 pm
