there should be some kind of forum that lists all the changes between os leaks...

Works great, my first upgrade from 4.7 to 5.0
Batterylife seems to be better, 5 Mb more memory, quicker after a reboot, quicker starting-up applications.
No problems yet.

Can anyone tell if the 451 browser is better or is it still pretty sketchy?

Where's the 9530 love?

I've seen this question asked before but I've yet to see the answer. Is it possible to install a 9500 update on a verizon 9530 without turning it into a paper-weight?

I really would like to see this released by verizon. But i agree with RedBank, it all likelyness the OS will release with 9650. Ofcourse, no guarantees :}

I succesfuly downloaded and installed the Software on my PC, but the BB desktop software doensn't show an available update - when I manually try to do so there's a warning of downgrading my software ...
My current version is the OS 5.0.0.425 from A1 - any suggestions?
By the way - OS 5.0.0.425 works pretty fine for me with our BES 5!

Am having the same problem as above. Deleted the vendor file and it still won't update. Some help is needed.

If the BBDM is not detecting an upgrade or will not allow you to upgrade your OS, follow these instructions.

1. Go to your c:/programs files/common files/research in motion/app loader , and delete the vendor file.

2. Within the same window (c:/programs files/common files/research in motion/app loader) double click the .exe file labeled 'Loader"

3. Follow the steps.

This is just an alternate path that bypasses the BBDM but will still install your unofficial OS updates to your BB. Hope this helps.

Hi!
You do not need to launch loader.exe manually.

Simply

1. unplug your network connection

2. delete vendor.xml from c:\programs files\common files\research in motion\app loader

3. load BBDM

4. plug in your BB ;o)

Cheers

Hi WileECoyote,

I updated my device and it's runnung very smoothly now - it seems to me that there were fewer steps do do after the update i.e. configure the startscreen and so on ...
very nice,

Cheers,

Captain42
