Official OS 5.0.0.425 for the BlackBerry Storm 9500 Released by A1

Another carrier getting in on the fun with this latest OS release that popped up in the forums yesterday. A1 (does anyone else want steak?) has just released OS 5.0.0.425 for the BlackBerry Storm 9500. We haven't seen an official OS for the 9500 since Vodafone dropped one a few months back, so you may want to give this on a shot. Direct download link is below so get to it. i just uploaded, fyi i live in thailand. its pretty much the same as the hybrid other than the fact that it is more stable, most of the bugs are gone, and start up (if im not mistaken) is much faster. all i hope for now is that the application memory will be stable cuz last time i had to quickpull everyday - - gdluck and congrats to you all!

Hey dsiduousaardvrk, The last update i did gave me the same results that you had. I had to delete all other OS versions from my PC control panel do a restart. Then I had to click on the downloaded file and let it install on my PC and open DM. C if this helps.

i cant install the new 5.0 os
i have storm 9500 with 4.7.181 n desktop manager 4.7
but when i isntall bb os 5.0.0.425 my desktop manager doesnt regnize the new update
it says no new upade available
am i doing something worng ?

fyi A1 is an Austrian Carrier and that's the name of Vodafone Austria.
So for all you guys waiting for a Vodafone release. This is actually one.
I'm realy suprised they released a 5.0 update because normaly they need much longer than all other carriers.

By any chance has anyone who is running this update noticed a fix in the bluetooth. .328 caused my bluetooth volume feedback to become very, very low. Verizon has no idea why it is happening but, it happened on my 9530 and my new 9550. Went back to my 9530 and version .148 to get to work right.
