Official OS 4.5.0.161 For The BlackBerry Pearl (8100,8110,8120), Curve (8300,8310,8320), 8800 And 8820 From Hutchison

Odd, just last month on June 1st there was a similar device wide release of device firmware across the board where OS 4.5.0.153 showed up - now this month yet again, on the 1st of the month another huge list of upgrades comes out. Maybe there's some food for thought there.

In any event, 4.5.0.161 has been released for all "older" device from Hutchinson and as such are of course official OS releases so if you are looking for the latest and greatest in the 4.5 flavor be sure to grab whatever one matches your device.

I'm currently running OS 4.5.0.110, I've never had a problem, I can run all the themes I like & all the apps I want rum without a problem, is there really any benefits to updated my OS to this new one?

Hello,

Considering it is not listed, I guess this means no dice for the Pearl 8130?

Well, I've been using this: '8310M_PBr4.5.0_rel257_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.163_O2_UK.exe' on my 8310 with no obvious ill effects.... Wonder what the differences would be?

I would just like to clarify an error in the author's post. This new OS release was not released today as the author wrote. It was posted in the CB forums on the 26th as being an official OS release. Maybe Hutchinson only officially announced it today but it has been officially available since at least the 26th.

Anyway, I've had it running for a few days and it works great!
