While waiting for an official BlackBerry PlayBook release date we had found bits of info from both Office Depot and Staples, but not OfficeMax. Today the office supply retailer announced they as well will be carrying the BlackBerry PlayBook at launch. On April 19th they will have all 3 Wifi models including the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions.
"We are excited to expand our tablet computer selection by adding the much-anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook to the mix," said Ryan Vero, EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer for OfficeMax. "The BlackBerry brand is synonymous with ingenuity and world-class innovation and the BlackBerry PlayBook is no exception. The new BlackBerry tablet is being lauded by critics for its ultra-portable design, enterprise friendly set-up, and uncompromised Web experience. We believe customers who are in the market for a tablet computer will be happy to know that they can test drive and buy a new BlackBerry PlayBook at any OfficeMax retail location."
While there is no word if they'll have any type of pre-order we'd like to think they wouldn't want to miss out on some early sales. The tablet isn't yet showing on their site and there is no landing page, so check back as it should pop up in the coming weeks. Keep reading for the full press release.

BlackBerry legacy services will reach End of Life on January 4, 2022
Although BlackBerry has extended the life span of BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and PlayBook a few times now, that time has seemingly finally run out.
A new BlackBerry tablet might kick off second phase of software licensing
BlackBerry CEO John Chen spoke with candor this morning on the earnings call about the next phase in BlackBerry's licensing strategy. In particular, he mentions one of the company's partners is very excited to build a tablet based on Android.
Should BlackBerry consider releasing a new tablet?
It never seems to fail. Any time you stick BlackBerry CEO John Chen in a room with the media someone is going to ask about a BlackBerry tablet and, no surprise, it has happened again. This time around it was CNET who asked the question whether or not BlackBerry was working on a tablet during the BlackBerry event at Mobile World Congress. For John Chen's part, the answer remained mostly...
Grab a bargain with a BlackBerry PlayBook at under 80 bucks
For many of us the BlackBerry PlayBook is a thing of the past. Sure, I still have mine, but I'll be honest and say that these days I very rarely switch it on. The PlayBook itself is still, in my eyes, a great tablet - it's just with no ongoing support from BlackBerry it is I'm afraid a dying breed. But on the off chance that you did fancy picking the PlayBook at a silly price, you...
