NTT DOCOMO releases official OS 5.0.0.1014 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700

If you're still not running any of the previously leaked BlackBerry 6 builds on your BlackBerry Bold 9700 then, maybe you'll want to update to the latest official OS at least. NTT Docomo has made available for download, OS 5.0.0.1014 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. The fact the build number is so high on this release kind of gives us the impression that BlackBerry 6 on the Bold 9700 may still have a ways to go before we start seeing it pushed through official channels. In any event, be sure to delete the vendor.xml file for this release and be sure to back up your data before loading.

OS 6 leak 358 is good for me. Even with the annoying 25M memory leak and the limited copy and paste.

Os6 on 9700 is fine. Download and play. I don't have time to mess- I like all blackberry owners am a big player, big business kind of guy and I've had no problems with os6 on my sexy 9700!

I back to OS5. The Version 6 .358 jump battery from 50% to 8%! Too, the camera only make 1 flash.

I comeback to OS5, the OS6 leak drop my battery charge from 50% to 8%!!! Too, the camera just make one flash, then no more.

I am downloading this build too. Glad to see OS5 still supported. I am too much of a perfectionist to use OS6 -tried it twice then gave up. I use my 9700 for a load of stuff to help manage my life and having half of it not work properly was too much for me. I have my phone for another year and a half yet so figure I am gonna try OS6 in Summer 2011 - they might have ironed out the 3 million bugs by then.

I haven't had many problems with this os 6( I'm running the first leak) besides some issues with copy and paste, some web pages are sometimes too much too handle but I jus delete my history and it works.I can honestly say its almost perfect.( My battery last twice longer, no memory leaks but I don't have many apps only pandora) I'm not seeing the social feeds icon? Does anyone know how to load that up?

I suspect they don't want to release an official os6
But would rather we get the newer Blackberry Models
With the newer os6
I am on the second leaked version of os6
It is much more stable than the first one

Glad to see a new OS 5 release. i've tried both of the OS 6 leaks and been pretty disappointed with their performance. I'll be trying this release as soon as it finishes downloading.
I'm not very confident 6 can be made to run well on the 9700 with its limited RAM, and both leaks thus far have confirmed that suspicion.

Yeah right, because a 3xx pre-official leak is clearly indicative of how well an OS preforms on a device. You seem to forget that ageless 5.0.0.423 or any 5xx leak which was mired with other bugs. At least, that's how I remember them. OS5 turned out okay, I see no reason why OS6 shouldn't.
Besides, I've been running the OS6 leak for 2 days now without hard-resetting, if you delete social feeds and refrain from sending/accepting pictures on bbm nothing is wrong with it.

I'm going to break down and download this OS....this OS6 is freezing to much on me and really cant copy and paste and the memory sucks right now...i wait to the official os6 comes before i do another download.

To Gallia: I'm sure OS6 will turn out GREAT but for now, it isn't ready for prime time. I've tried the leaks and had to revert to OS5 so I'm downloading this for now.

Hello guys... keep this posting simple please and post subjects related to this OS release. I'm sure everyone here agrees that nobody would like to know if you're sticking with OS5 or OS6.

Just post your findings on this OS release and save all of us time from reading those useless remarks!
